    Weight Gain

I think it's because the last 10-20lbs is always the most difficult to lose. I also think that it was my first set point from high school and my body thought it needed to settle there and defend that new position. I also know that it happened in the sophomore phase and this is the phase where we notoriously start living life again. So some of it could be that I slacked off in my choices with a greater frequency of "treat" meals when going out? And before, I cooked almost everything at home. So I think it's probably a combination of metabolic stuff + behavior. Also, that chart doesn't look like it, but the line is actually down at the 130-135 level. It looks more like it's 140ish. Here's a close up of it for the last 90 days.

Hi , I was coverted at my goal weight to fix GERD. So far it has been resolved from conversion from VSG to RNY. You *can* maintain if you work at it. But above all resolving the medical issues in play was invaluable. Speak with your surgeon to come up with a plan! Good Luck 💚

Can't believe it's 5 weeks today. Down 29 since surgery, 4.2 in BMI, and 6.5% body fat, at least according too my scale..... I wish I had more energy, but that should come pretty soon. Sent from my SM-G950U using BariatricPal mobile app

This question “comes up” all the time. I think the best response I have read is that generally they prefer you to wait until you are home from hospital

    Sugar/Sweet Cravings

I'm sorry you are struggling with this. I think it's fairly common? And I'm gonna (of course) take the other angle on this one. You had this surgery to give you an opportunity to REFRAME how you deal with food and to learn new behaviors and relationships with food. Right? You didn't get this surgery just so you could take yet, ANOTHER scenic route, meandering towards weight loss. Did you? Cuz I know I didn't. When you feed a craving you do a couple things...the biggest one is you behaviorally hard wire that action into your brain through repetition. That makes it even harder to break. And then actually using the substance like sugar makes it even worse. But also, using sugar free stuff STILL lights up your pleasure center and activates insulin (fat storing hormone). So.... My advice would be to break up with it. Get an action plan together. You are in WLM (weight loss mode right now). You need to be lean, mean, and green! Don't cheat. Eat meat! Right? So when you're hungry behaviorally, do something else. Get busy. Make sure you aren't thirsty. Deep breathe. Do relaxation practices. Change things up. Do a puzzle. Color. Do something that engages you creatively rather than passively. Exercise. Take a walk. Drink water!!! Pound the water down til you can't take another sip. Brush your teeth. Or drink black decaff coffee or decaff black tea unsweetened. NO sweets. Avoid sweets!!! Avoid sweet water, sweet vitamins, fruit, ANYTHING sweet for now. If you are wanting to eat at night, then consider adding a small mini meal. Make it only protein and a tiny bit of healthy fat. Or do a protein drink (yes, sigh, they're sweet. that's a b***h.) Eat a hard boiled egg. My rule during WLM was if I wanted to eat I got to eat a hard boiled egg, or a tuna pouch in water, or an ounce of turkey lunch meat rolled up, or a light string cheese. And if I didn't want any of those, then it was head hunger, not real hunger. And my rule was: I don't feed head hunger, that's what got me to the Obesity Ball. Hope this helps. Nip it in the bud. Once you hit maintenance you can set up a whole new set of rules to work with your pouch!

    The WORST Loser

You guys are wonderful. I actually feel like someone cares and understands. The past few days have been MUCH better. I'm logging EVERYTHING and making most of my meals ahead of time again. I live alone so this way I can just heat and eat and not "deviate". I feel newly motivated. I also realized I'm not actually drinking 64 oz. of water!!! My bottle is only 28 oz which is only 56 oz if I drink 2 - yikes!! I am also taking 15 min. each morning to do something physical before getting for work - weights, leg lifts, or a few mins. on the Gazelle - yup!! I have one of those!!

I am a month sleeved today. I am nauseous all of the time, ALL of the time. I am supposed to move to purées but after one swallow of applesauce or something I am throwing up or get terrible pain. My Dr said it was normal for the first month. I go back in a few weeks. I just am miserable most of the time.
