    Opinion?

I will definitely keep this in mind. Thanks again for your advice - it is much appreciated!

So far: (Good) Major BP reduction Back pain reduction Exhaustion/chest pain for exertion Less Palpitations Much less urinations per day (Previously they were way too frequent) For guys: My testosterone levels are normal (I think). Things are working the way they are supposed to. I'll leave it at that. (Bad) I get dumping. Probably 4 times in 6 months. It's a blessing disguised as a curse though and it's the main reason I chose rny over vsg...I wanted the dumping to remind me not to consume sugar. "Bat wings" but I'll take them over being "full" Getting antidepressants absorbed right is a little bit tricky. Supplements aren't cheap I would gladly do it over!

    Maintenance

It's ok to have a freak out moment. Maintaining and eating more calories is a whole new mind set. Your surgery restriction is still good at 6/7 months out. Your restriction may feel less after your first year. Check with your dietician and see if they would approve liquid sources. I drink liquid carbs to increase my intake for distance running. look into body building weight gain/muscle mass protein shakes. The macros are much different than bariatric shakes. Hair loss

I had thin hair to start. Hair loss started in earnest last month. Now starting to slow up but can see day light now. Bought toppix hair fibers after trying extensions and about 5 diff wigs.

    Pain following surgery

I had almost no pain at all, but people are all across the board when it comes to post-surgical pain. The fact you had hernia repair might be a factor, too...

    Hair loss

I didn't experience hair loss, and I'm almost a year out, so hopefully I won't. I don't know if I was just one of the lucky ones or if it was anything I did. I'm thinking I was just a lucky one, but I'll let you know what I did just in case. I get 100g of protein daily. I take a bariatric multivitamin and biotin daily.

Yes, It makes sense. Worried about losing and worried about gaining. You will find your zone. You got this.

    Period won't go off

Yea, so mine showed up the night before surgery...basically I was spotting. It's been happening ever since at last once a week. This week has been heavier. I feel like it hasn't really stopped since 12/11. But maybe now that it was more of a regular flow for me? I'm 57 and I thought I was finally at menopause so go figure. However, I do know that Estrogen gets stored in our fat cells and as we lose....well, my guess is the weight loss/hormone/period thing is all related. I'm hoping things settle down again but if they don't, I'll seek medical advice.

Just an observation: I've noticed that the proper serving size for almost all foods is actually the serving size bariatric patients are supposed to eat. Everybody just eats 3 times the serving size on the labels. Nearly everything is 1 cup or less or 4oz or less or 1 slice, etc. Makes life easy since you don't have to measure nonstop... just actually follow the recommended serving size for once. Once upon a time I used to laugh at how little they'd say a serving size was... but now it makes so much sense. lol. Sent from my SM-G930R4 using BariatricPal mobile app
