    19 lbs. To go!!!

I just can't reiterate enough on how glad I am that I decided to have surgery[emoji847]!!! My journey started in June of 2017, that's when I decided to go with the gastric bypass. I had to wait for a whole year before I actually had surgery, due to not being able to keep my weight down🤷🏾‍♀️. I finally had surgery in June 2018 and it has been the best decision I could have made to regain control of my body and my life. I thought it would take close to a year, to get near my goal weight. However, to my amazement i'm only 19 lbs., away from my goal weight now[emoji1495]‍♀️!!! Since my journey began up until now, I have lost 113 lbs.! I have noticed that my metabolism has sped up and I now have to have about 5 small meals through the day. My food digest's really fast now and i'm okay with that. I'm so happy that I can be active and do things that I haven't done in many years. It feels awesome to go shopping and not[emoji1496]‍♀️ have to go in the plus sized(goodbye size 26) section anymore (Hello size 10)[emoji1494]!!! RNYGB: 6/25/2018 HW: 297 LBS. SW: 246 LBS. CW: 184 LBS. GW: 165 LBS.

The hard part will be to keep the eating habits for life. Hard to when your husband has hollow legs and can eat anything. Best of luck to you keep me up dated you your recovary.[emoji2] Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

I'm sure you will feel better soon, your body just went through a big change. I was told the more you move around the better recovary will be. The minute I got to my room after the recovary room I got up to go pee and had to get my own cloths on and walked aroud the floor of the hospital. Every time I woke up I walked a lap and added a lap each time. Went to Walmart on my way home. I have had the last 4 years of my life taken from me. I had a stroke. Meningitis, chronic lyme, Gilligan barrett syndrome. I was tired of not bei.g healthy i have 2 grandkids now and nothing is going to stop me from living life to the fullest. Kerp your head up and stay positive I'm sure i am going to have bumps in the road. But not like the past. Best of luck in you recovary. 6 days post

Well, my experience has been a little different. I'm 6 days post today. I had a complication in surgery which I think has made my soreness worse. Otherwise, I never had nausea or vomiting and was able to get fluids and proteins in off the bat. Stopped pain meds 2 days post, but that twinge on the left it still ouchie. I've been pretty tired, but plan to go out to walk around the dreaded Walmart today because I need OUT!!! This morning I woke up with a bit of nausea and just kind of a crappy feeling. Hoping it passes. Have a feeling like something is sitting in the bottom of my esophagus. Overall I'm pretty pleased with my progress but I am glad I took an extra week off work. I think I need that adjustment time.

    Instant Pot and Slow Cooker

Good Morning! I just got an Instant Pot. I'm officially one month out today and I'm starting to be able to eat more real foods. What are your favorite WLS-friendly Instant Pot (or Crock Pot, got one of those too) recipes? I'm looking forward to trying some turkey chili and steamed artichokes.
