Woke up - went to bathroom - then weighed. I always hold my breath when I weigh, its such a scary feeling.   Well, the scales did go down, I took my docs advice and really upped my water intake. I was going to the bathroom all day yesterday!   Wt - 182.7 (5 lb loss overnight!)   Menu Bfast Coffee/cream   Lunch lettuce wrap   Dinner grilled fish

I am now more convinced that the steroids are making me Gain!

Yes, I ate so good yesterday, I worked out, I drank my water, and I was expecting to see the scales go down. Well, WRONG. They went up antoher 2 lbs! What the Heck? I am now more convinced than ever it has to be the steroids I'm taking making me gain.:party::eek::frown::mad:   I have put on more than 15 lbs in the past month. I've been taking them for 6 weeks now and this is my last week, thank gawd!   I hope the weight falls off as quickly as it has come on.   Besides the steroids, my fill level is not right, my life seems so out of control lately and I'm not dealing with it very well. Wonder if the steroids are making me moody too?   Okay, I'm going to sign off and try and think positive!:tt2:   Wt - 188.2

I woke up this morning and noticed my face was so round. Well, I started reading the side effects of my medication that I'm taking and it turns out the big side effect if taken more than 14 days is weight gain! I'm on steroids, and have been on them since 1/17/08. So that explains the weight gain.   Although I haven't made the right food choices, I was a little shocked that I had gained so much, because I never have in the past while not making the right food choices. So, I was a little depressed. Well this weekend I did really good with eating, and still gained another 3 lbs. Then I noticed my face looked distorted this morning. So I started researching the medication I'm on. Well, not only am I takig orally steroid, I'm also putting steroid drops in my eyes, so needless to say, its causing a weight gain. I should be off of it all by the end of this week.   Scale this mornng was really ugly 186.2. I do think once I quit taking the steroids I will start losing.   Okay menu today   Bfast 1 egg 2 slices of turkey bacon   Mid moring cup of coffee w/cream   Lunch salad dressing on side   Dinner ground hamburger salsa   Exercise -

Wt 183.2   At least it is going down! Back hurts today, still bloated and cranky and just feel like poo poo.   Did good last night, made baked fish and it was really good. Having it again for lunch today, I served it over wilted spinach leaves. yum.   Need to up my water intake!

Keeping my promise

Wt today 184.6 - down .1 of a freaken pound.   Tom came yesterday which explains my headache, bloat, fatigue, and cranky attitude.   Did pretty good until last night, ate the rest of the choco chip cookies (3 of them) and now no more is allowed into the house. I threatened my family once, but slowly the junk food has crept back into our house.   Focussin on me and only me for the next 3 months.

It's time to quit breaking my promises!

I Keep telling myself, okay, today I'm going to be back on track! Then, I do good, then fall off the wagon.   I weighed this morning and I am up to 185 lbs! I weighed at one time 167! I am so disgusted with myself. I feel like the biggest PIG! I keep waiting on that "restriction" and it isn't happening. I get some, then lose it, or I get too tight. I'm so mad at myself that I screwed up, I used to have pretty good restriction at 3.8, but then tried to get tighter, and well, now I'm still trying to get that restriciton back! Sucks.   I am using it as an excuse to eat what I want, when I want etc. Well, it was a major wake up call. I feel bad to keep typing in my journal how - I'm going to start and how good I'm going to do, then I don't. I keep breaking promises to myself. I have to be true to myself so I've got to take control - for good.   It seems I do good for a week, then blow it for 2 weeks. Its a vicious cycle. The weight is creaping back on and I must stop it now! I must! I must!   I was in tears this morning, but I am not going to "feel sorry" for myself, or beat myself up anymore. I can't change the past, but I can change the future. No more sweets, no more sugar! No more!   Its time to pull my head out of the sand and quit doing the self destruction like I've done with every diet in the past. I am hoping to get my restriction back at my next fill - 4/7/08, but until then, I need to focus, really focus. I need to THINK before I eat, I need to plan my meals! I must exercise! I don't want to be a Band Failure, I want to be a success!   Okay - my life will change. I will report my weight everyday on here. Good or bad, I'm also going to report my menu - good or bad!   Wt 184.7   Exercise -   Menu Protein shake - chocolate Whey protein, with added coffee   Coffee with cream - no sugar   Lunch - Roasted chicken, few bites of green beans and some corn   Snack - 1/2 container of strawberry no sugar yogurt with a little grape nuts added in it.   Dinner - Roast, few carrots

My fill history - updated

Fill #1 - 3/6/07 - 2.2cc's Fill #2 - 4/17/07 - 3.0cc's Fill #3 - 7/6/07 - 3.5 cc's (I think it was only 2.5cc's because when I went back for fill #4, he could only w/draw 1.8 cc's) Fill #4 - 7/20/07 - filled me back to 3.0 ccs - He should have filled me more! Fill #5 - 8/17/07 - 3.4cc's Fill #6 - 10/08/07 - filled me to 3.8cc's - the restriction I've ever had,but still could eat big bites of food, so I figured I needed to be tighter. Fill #7 - 11/21/07 filled to 4.0 cc's. By the evening could not hold anything down, not even my saliva. PBing all night - horrilble experieince 11/23/07 - Unfill - Got unfill and because of the swelling and all the PBing, doc took my fill down to 3.0cc's. NO RESTRICTION AGAIN Fill #8 - 1/18/08 Went in and the doc filled me back up to just right under 4.0, according to Flouro, it was perfect. Well, by next morning, could not hold down saliva again, ended up back in hospital and the Doc had to take me back down to 3.0. grrrr. Now I'm back where I was in November, barely restriction again. Fill #9 - 3.5 cc's - was tight for about a week, now feel lose again. grrrr, still have "some" restriction, just not quite enough! Next fill scheduled for 4/7/08 - I hate that it takes sooooooo long to get in to see the fill doc.:thumbup:

13 mos post op today

Today marks 13 months post op. I feel like I'm sinking these days.   My fill has losened up, which I was hoping it wouldn't. I have my next fill on 4/7 - so long to wait, but I am trying so hard and just feel like I'm failing.   I should be happy, and for the most part I am, I just am ready to lose my final weight!   Will post more later.

Day 1 of the 5 day pouch test!

Anyone reading this and interested in it, check out www.5daypouchtest.com. You then click on Plan. This site has some good info, even tho she had RNY, a pouch is a pouch.   I've started the 5 day pouch test today, so for the next few days, its liquids/cream soups/protein drinks.   I figured today was a good day to start since I had a fill. Doc is going to go slower now that I've had problems with my last 2 fills. He filled me up to 3.5cc's. I am hoping I have some restriction for awhile, but not sure, right now I do, but the last time I had good restriction I was at 3.8cc's. But as far as today, I've got restriction.   Menu today   bfast/Protein drink   Lunch - creamed broccoli soup   Dinner - protein drink/SF jello   I know its not much to eat, but I'm following the plan.   I do plan on exercising tonight, but will not enter it until I do it.   I will post my fill history later.

No gym for the past few days, my knee is swollen and hot, so I'm back to icing it down. grrrrrr. I'm sick of my knee problems!   Eating was great last week, this week not so good. Eating too much salt! Had Mexican yesterday and couldn't finish it all, but still, not good and high fat.   So, trying to stay focussed today and back to the grind!   I go next Tueday for another fill, hoping to get it right this time.

This morning, I was up 4 min before the alarm went off! It was cold outside, snow was coming down and I thought about staying in bed. I kept laying there and I finally said to myself "either I go to exercise this morning, or I have to go tonite". I really didn't want to go tonight because the snow will be worse, so I got up, and headed to the gym. I'm so happy I did.   My plan for today:   Exercise - 5:00 am - 20 min HIIT Elliptical, 10 min Recumbant bike   Exercise 2 - 3:00 pm - strength training, arms - biceps, triceps   Menu -   Bfast coffee with cream 1 piece of extra dark chocolate - (52 calories)   Lunch South Beach Frozen dinner - 220 calories   Snack Apple with pnut butter - 140 calories   Dinner Still undecided - but probably fish   Okay - I feel like my attitude is doing great, I feel like I am beating the carb demons and I will succeed. I am not letting my "no restriction" be an excuse any longer. I have to take control.   Since I've been eating smaller portions, I think my band seems to be working better too. Weird, when we use the band as a tool, it does work. Its only when we lean on the band to do everything that it doesn't.   Okay - back to work I go.   PS - I wore my size 8 coat today to work, and it's weird to say, its not even tight today. I know, I know, it could have not happened overnight, but I swear, I feel like I have lost 20 lbs. I Know that I was swollen from water weight, and I just ended TOM, but inches are finally coming off again. I feel so good to be back in conrol!

1 year update

Well, its been 1 year (1/18/08 made a year) since my surgery. The first 6 months were wonderful, the 2nd 6 months sucked. I am not blaming the band, I'm blaming myself. I quit trying, the good news, I will never weigh over 200 lbs again. I know my band will keep me around the 170's if I just eat like I want. However, I don't want to weigh in the 170's, I am ready to get down to the 150's or 140's. So, I'm refocussed and recommitted. 2008 I will lose this weight!   Here is my updates on weight: Highest weight - 248 1 mo post op - 206.8 2 mo post op - 198 3 mo post op - 193 4 mo post op - 184.2 5 mo post op - 178 6 mo post op - 174 7 mo post op - 178 - went on vacation and ate big 8 mo post op - 174 9 mo post op - 170 10 mo post op- 167 11 mo post op - 170 - havent even been trying 12 mo post op - 174 - again, not trying. But finally refocussed.

I'm BACK!

Yes, my old self is back! I was up at 5am and headed to the gym. My menu has been clean, I've been eating clean and my jeans are getting loose on me again.   I bought myself a present today. I bought a SIZE 8 coat. It was a little snug, but not too tight that I couldn't wear it, however, its a freaken size 8. I want to scream it out to everyone here at work, I want to show everyone the tag, its a size 8. I can't even remember the last time I bought a size 8, but I think it was like in 8th grade or maybe 7th. Anyhow, I know its made a little different, and normally I would not buy an 8, I buy 10's or 12, but I decided by next winter, I will be wearing it with no tightness. I'm just excited I can put it on, and button it! A size 8 people, did you hear me, a size 8!   Okay, here is my today plan:   5am -   Recumbant bike - 30 min Hip Abductor - outer thighs - 3 sets of 12 - 70 lbs Hip Abductor - inner thighs - 3 sets of 12 - 70 lbs Seated leg press - Quads - 3 sets of 15 - 70 lbs Laying leg curls - Hamstrings - 3 sets of 12 - 20 lbs (this killed my knee) Incline sit ups - Abs - 3 sets of 25   PM exercise - (3:00 pm) 15 min on Elliptical machine   Menu   Bfast egg white omlet made with 1 turkey sausage link and 1 canadian bacon   Lunch coffee w/cream - very tired - Drank before I ate - I do not drink while eating. apple with pnut butter (2 TBSP) 3 oz of chicken breast   Dinner spinach chicken wings (baked with hot sauce)   Suppliments - quickslim30, multi-vitamin

How long can I go?

A new challenge to myself, How long can I go without Sugar? I was on day 3 until last night. However, I really don't feel I did too bad. We went out to the "all you can eat buffet", I fixed my plate and ate, I mainly ate a salad. Anyhow, after dinner, everyone was going for dessert, so I followed right along. I fixed me some of this warm chocolate cake and some bread pudding. Well, I had about 1 bite of the bread pudding and maybe 3 of(very small bites) the cake, it just wasn't that good and I didn't want to wast calories on something that I didn't really like. So, I just didn't eat anymore.   But I decided instead of going for the cake, I should have just said NO. So now I'm going to challenge myself, how long can I go challenge. I like to have some type of snack at night, so I am having SF jello or SF pudding instead of my usual dessert.   So - we'll start today, DAY 1!   Menu   Bfast 1 orange coffee with cream   Lunch Roasted chicken salad   Dinner Roast carrots   Snack SF Jello, SF cool whip

still waiting on the hospital to call so I can schedule my fill! Yes, this will be fill #9 I think. - UPDATE - THEY CALLED (YAY :redface:) MY FILL APPT IS 2/12 AT 8 AM!   However, I am eating oatmeal this morning and have had to slow down a bit, so I do have some restriction! I just need something for my head, something to help with my sweet tooth.   Anyhow, I'm struggling, and I have got to get control so working very very hard at it.   Menu today   Bfast low sugar oatmeal coffee/cream   Lunch chicken breast 1/2 cup of greens   I had planned to eat the above for lunch, however, went out to lunch with my sil who was in town, she wanted mexican, I only ate 3 chips & salsa, and had 1 enchilada, no rice and a bite of two of beans. Not that great, but I feel I didn't do as bad as I could have done. I tried to eat slow and stop when I was full. I left another enchilada on the plate when we left and I didn't get a to go box. I didn't want it lingering around for me to eat!   Dinner fish green beans   Snack SF jello   PS - I DID GO EXERCISE YESTERDAY!! AND WILL DO IT AGAIN TODAY!   UPDATE - 10:26AM - just got back from the gym downstairs, took a 15 min break and went and jumped on the Elliptical. Did 15 min, 1.11 miles and burned 140 calories (according to the machine, not sure how accurate they are). I am so excited, I feel like the "old" me is BACK!   UPDATE - 3:34 PM - Just got back from the gym downstaris and did another 15 min on the elliptical. 1.12 miles, burned 141 calories. Yay me!

20/20 visoin!

I had my lasik done on Thursday, things went real smooth. I went for my 1 day follow up on Friday, and already had 20/20 vision. Very happy so far with my results.   Now the bad news, I also had a fill scheduled on Friday, so, as you recall, I've been at almost no restriction since November. So anyhow, go in for my fill, again, I get filled up to 4.0 cc's, I should have known better because this is where he filled me last time and I ended up in the hospital. But, I felt good restriction, I could only sip on my water, but I felt thats what I should only be able to do. I actually said, maybe I should get a little out, but then I said, well, let me go eat lunch and if I have trouble I'll come back. So, off to lunch I go, has soft foods, and everything went fine. Well, that evening we went out to dinner, I had soup, and I could tell I was having a hard time with it, one ate about 2 tBLS. I woke up in the middle of the night coughing and choking, and by Saturday, I could not hold down my saliva. Back to the hospital I go and the dr. had to come and take fluid out, now I'm right back where I was in November, with no restriction again.   This sucks! I am so frustrated. I just called the office to schedule another fill and waiting on the hospital to call me back. The next fill, I will not let him fill me to 4.0 no matter what. This is twice I've been filled to that and it just make me swell too much. 3.8 is not enough restriction and 4.0 is way too much. So, I'm going to ask for 3.8 1/2.   I've decided I cannot wait on the fill, I just have to diet until then. So I've prepared my foods and I will take an appetite suppresant until then. I'm so frustrated trying to ge my fill right, I'm about ready to give up. I don't know if I will ever find the sweet spot, I do know I don't eat as much as I used to, so I'm happy about that.   Menu today:   bfast egg white omlet with turkey sausage   Lunch tuna salad with light mayo   Dinner baked chicken   snack SF jello

The Biggist Loser Show

Watched the Biggest Loser last night, I love that show! Anyhow, it always motivates me to get my butt to the gym. I've been sick, so I didn't make it this morning. I will try and go down at lunch and do a little something.   My lasik is tomorrow and I'm excited!   Oh, I started a flkr account for my pictures, I still have a lot to upload but I did get it started. Woke up sick today, sore throat, eyes burning, just feel like dog poop. Anyhow, did not go the gym, but brought my stuff to work and heading down to the gym at lunch.   I have my lasik eye surgery on Thursday so I'm hoping I can get over this before then.   I've avoided the scales all week, I am just trying to live my life and make good choices. I do go for a fill on Friday, and I'm hoping that will jump start my progress again. Until then, the scale is my enemy. lol.

Again, did not get up at 5 am, however, one of the reasons is I was at the gym so late last night.   I did not get home from the gym until after 11:00 pm, by the time I got tired, it was after midnight. So, needless to say, I did not get up at 5 am. I plan on going again tonight so I will not be getting up at 5 am tomorrow either. I am hoping to switch my schedule next week back to the am workouts. But my whole goal is to exercise, whether it is am or pm, I'm just going to get it done!   Menu -   Bfast 2 eggwhite omlett with turkey sausage   Lunch turkey breast/salad   Dinner rotissarie chicken/green beans

I did not get up this am, however, I do have plans to exercise. I just had a rough night last night and woke up with a headache. So, I've decided to exercise today during my lunch hour. I brought my stuff to work, so there will be no excuses. Tomorrow, I will resume my 5 am routine!   Todays menu   Bfast coffee with cream/ iced coffee   snack - M2 yogurt with a handful of granola   lunch salad with salmon   dinner chicken breast, green beans   water, water and more water.   Exercise - 20 min of HIIT on recumbant bike   Wt - 179.9- grrrrrr - but, I have no one to blame but myself! Cannot wait until my fill in 10 more days!

Okay, so I knew I was starting this exercise challenge today, My restriction level is down to NOTHING.   I took my measurements below are the results - yuck - I also compared them to the last time I measured when I was exercising all the time. I wanted to see if there was a difference with exericising and not exercising. I do see some of my measurements went up, especailly in my thigh area. My problem area is my legs.     Neck - 16 Breast - 40 - I was at 39" when exericising under breast - 36 1/2 - previously was at 36" left bicep - 13 - previously at 12 3/4" forearm - 9 1/4 - waist - 34 - previously at 35" hips - 43 - same, previous 43" left thigh - 24 - prevously at 22 3/4" left calves - 15 - same, previously at 15" Weight - 181.7 - YIKES   I am so bloated, we had mexican and last night I had steak, so the salt intake is making me retain a lot of water.   The scales were VERY ugly today, but I know they will be dropping rapidly this week as I lose some of the "water weight".   Goals today, drink water, and drink more water.   I was up this morning at 4:50 am, headed to the gym and did a circuit training and focussed on upper body workout.   EXERCISE - UBWO/cardio - am exercise   M1 - 7:30 am egg white omlet with 2 turkey sausage links, picante sauce   M2 - SF yogurt, handful of granola to give it a crunch   M3 - salad with balsmic vingerette dressing/salmon   M4 - 3 oz of steak and 1/2 potatoe (small potatoe)   I am excited to see some good results over the next few months. I know if I stick to the program, and once I get my restriction back, I will see some results! I am so excited to go for my fill next week, I cannot wait!

2008 is going to be great!

2008 is going to be great, this is the last year of my life that I will every say "this year, I'm going to lose weight". I WILL hit my goal this year, I am sure of it! I am determined to make it to my goal this year and nothing is going to stop me, not even the chocolate that call my name all the time. lol.   I went yesterday for a "free" consultation with a smart lipo doctor. Man, I really want the smart lipo done so bad. The cost for total body would be $9800. This would be for every inch of my body. I am wanting it done so badly! I am just waiting on my 401K to be unfrozen due to a merger with our company and another, then I am thinking about doing a 401K loan. I'm hoping to have it done in April!   I also went in for my lasik surgery consultation, I am scheduled to have lasik on 1/17/08. I can't wait to be rid of contacts and glasses forever. I might still need reading glasses, but at least I will be able to wake up in the middle of the night and see the bathroom. lol.   I've always heard that the 40's are the greatest years and I am starting to believe it. I hated my 30's, I was overweight, I was depressed, I was just misserable. I am now 41 and I am feeling so good about myself, my looks, and my life. I am enjoying my 40's. My kids are now 15 & 17, it won't be long until they are grown complelely and off on their own. DH & I are madly in love, so we will enjoy the alone time, and we plan on taking a lot of trips and just having fun.   Menu today:   Bfast coffee/cream   lunch salad   dinner chili   suppliements - quickslim30, vitamins

I focussed on water - somewhat - yesterday. I still need more!   Todays menu -   Bfast 4 slices of thin, very small bacon 1 cup of coffee with cream   Lunch organic salad with feta cheese sunflower seeds, chicken breast, balsamic vinger dressing.   Dinner DH & I are going out to celebrate our 19 yr wedding anniversary, so not sure what I will have, but will try and choose something healthy. I will be having a glass of wine.

I did pretty good with my food yesterday. I turned down some homemade peanut butter cookies, I felt so empowered when I did. It felt good just to say "no thank you". I walked away from the cookies with a huge smile on my face!   Todays focus - drink water, lots of it. I am not getting enough water in and I think that is causing some bloating problems. So, today, I will focus on WATER.   Menu today   Breakfast coffee w/cream   mid morning water at least 8 oz   15 minutes after my water yogurt w/granola (SF yogurt)   lunch salad w/cheese & chicken   Dinner grilled fish veggies   suppliments - quickslim 30, flinstones   Exercise -
