Not a good start for my journey!!!

My journey starts off very well extremely nervous going into surgery scared of the pain that was about to come my way waking up after surgery! To my surprise I had very little to no pain at all up on my feet walking within the first few hours, walked laps in the hallway every hour like clockwork for the first 48 hours in hospital! Met all my Water and Protein goals with no problems!! After discharged I had a little discomfort on right side of my stomach for a few days, and for some strange reason I could not sleep!! AT ALL!! I had this strange energy running through my body, every time I would sit or lay down I would get pain in my stomach and hurt to move around so I started doing small projects and clean around house!! This really helped me take my mind off of everything!!! I started to get about 4-5 hours of sleep in 30-40 mins at a time! But still had tons of energy, hadn't watched tv or relaxed in days!! 9 days post I went to see doc, told him my story, at this point I had only lost 2lbs! He told me I needed to start exercising and cleaning house really didn't count.... ☹️️ tummy looked good and I was ok up on my feet almost 20 hours a day! He said my body will let me know what and when it needs things!!! Later that day my friend came to paint one of my walls, I was the dictator, she was unable to remove some tape from wall so of course I insisted to climbing the ladder! She spotted me and ladder, got the tape and headed back down, about 4 steps to bottom of ladder I reached my foot over to staircase and totally missed the step falling about 4feet onto steps landing on right side!! Instantly had the wind knocked outta me unable to breathe, and being 250ish lbs my friend called 911!!! Bruised up head, 3 broken ribs, torn cartilage from sternum, twisted knee, broken right foot!! Also landed on tummy but no damage to sleeve!!! 4 days in hospital and was released home!!! Kept my butt in bed!! It's been about 4 weeks now since fall and noticed my left foot swollen and very pain full!! Tested showed torn and sprained ligament!! And either happen in the fall or from putting too much weight on my left foot!! So now I get two walking cast on both feet and no work for another few weeks that's if I have a job to go back to!! I have been unable to focus on weight loss, exercising or diet!!! Don't eat or sleep much, in pain 24/7 and pray everyday the hurt will stop!!! I wish everyday that I never went on that dam ladder and How stupid I was!! WHAT WAS I THINKING!!! Why did this happen to me!! Guilt and regret weighs heavy in my soul!! I hope better days are coming my way soon!!!! IMG_2849.JPG IMG_2843.JPG IMG_2757.JPG IMG_2733.JPG IMG_2697.JPG IMG_2669.JPG

Omg!!!! So sorry about your situation! It sounds like you fell off a mountain. Uuummm.....maybe it will make you less hungry during the rough first month???? Granted you are in for a long rough period due to your injuries. Wow, God bless you and I hope you feel better and have good pain meds. Who cares about weight right now. Heal!

That is so scary :/ I'm so glad you didn't have any internal bleeding or damage to your surgery area! Don't stress, it will get better, just take it easy

Omg! so sorry about you!! God bless you and heals you fast. I think you will lose weight in any case. Supposedly the first weeks, we have to take it easy. It's a major surgery we have had. Just try to focus on Protein. As a rule, I always eat the protein first, then my veggies and in the end the carbs (I usually don't finish the carbs). Also try to drink you fluids at all cost. I was like you the week after my surgery, fortunately my husband n mother were there to stop me!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
