Help extremely DIZZY 13 days post op

Recommended Posts

You might be dehydrated (though it might be hard to get in all your fluids). OR your blood pressure might be a lot lower than it was when you were heavier.

I had that, too, at the 2 week mark. When I check my BP, it was 106/72, not the usual 150/96. I sucked on a few potato chips to get in a little sodium. I'm not 'medically' advising you do that, but it helped me get my BP up a bit. Felt better.

Merry Christmas.

My BP went from normal to low. There have been times where I got so dizzy standing up I thought I was going right over. More liquids, salt, and political discussions have helped.

I passed out the morning after I got home from the hospital. I couldn't have been dehydrated because I had all those iv fluids in the hospital. My BP was low. This is quite a shock to our bodies, and they are fighting back.

It's pretty normal to be dizzy periodically postop for months to come, particularly when going from a seated to standing position. It is not normal to be dizzy to the point where you can't walk or function or be dizzy in an ongoing way. I come from a family of nurses and they told me having a little salty broth when I feel dizzy will help. they said this has to do with blood pressure.

That happened to me too. My dietician said to switch from low sodium to regular sodium broth. The extra salt will help pull more Water into your blood. I made the change and in a day or so I was better. Keep sipping!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
