How does age affect success and weight loss rate

Recommended Posts

According to my surgeon age is a factor. She calculated that I should expect to loose 40 pounds in the first year and 60-80 total by the end of the second year. I intend to prove her wronged.

I bet that you will! With 160 pounds to lose I am down 112 within the first year. At 65 I thrilled and haven't had any negatives. Well, loose skin, but that was inevitable.

I seem to be losing steadily. I know its only been 11 days and things can slow down. At the intro class they gave a basic formula and so I was expecting to loose 80 pounds in a year. Just about what a want and under 200 lbs. I watched lots of tubes and read lots of blogs (It seems that people who are eating grill cheese sandwiches a week after surgery like to make videos!) "Average" includes everyone....So was left with the impression that what I will get out of this is exactly what I put in.

Keep up the good work bcos you can do it! We all can...we just have to get down to business!

Follow your rules! I'm 66, 19 months out and 120 down. 40 left.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
