It's been 8 days and I had my 1 week follow up yesterday . I was told to start puree food today and begin taking my Vitamins. I was just wondering how was it for others during this beginning stage and also what is good for me to eat? Although I met 2 others who were sleeved as well and I was told I should still be on liquids for another two weeks I'm still confused?!

Definitely go with the eating plan supplied by your doctor, he's in the best position to know your needs.

But just because you CAN start puree foods, doesn't mean you have to.

If you feel more comfortable, stay on liquids a few more days and just try a spoonful of puree food here and there to test your new tummy.

My goto foods when I was on purees was refried Beans and Cream of Mushroom Soup. That's almost exclusively what I ate for about the 1st 2 months. Frankensleeve was very cranky and wouldn't tolerate anything else.

You might also try yogurt and soft scrambled eggs, the make good puree foods.

Ok does all the food have to be blended ? I'm just a bit nervous I guess I just want to make good decisions.

I didn't blend as much as I chewed. make healthy smart choices and chew well. Don't expect to eat a lot either :D

Congrats!! I was sleeved the day after you, and I started my next stage on yesterday. I've tried soft grits and today mashed potatoes. No issues, but my doctor also allowed Protein drinks in the first week, so I felt like if I could drink those successfully, I would not have problems as we move along.

I've noticed sooo many versions of length of time and diets based on location and Doctor, so I follow the ones provided to me, which are a lot less strict than others had. For ex, my pre-op included one meal a day, 2 Protein shakes. Others post they are all liquid. It gets confusing, but I found it best to follow my given instructions and maybe tweak here and there :). I've had no problems and Doctor says I look great and I'm on track :). Best wishes to you on the journey!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
