I am not a vegetarian so I am not much help on that but I do know there are some people on this page that are so re-title your thread with something like "Need Help with Vegetarian ideas & recipes" and I bet they will chime in.

Good luck-

The WLS Cookbook for Dummies lists the following vegetarian recipes: fresh spinach salad with

roasted corn, garlic and herb tofu salad, tabbouleh with avocado, smoked gouda stuffed peppers, tofu mexi-corn quiche, easy cheesy navy bean bake, hearty moussaka with Beans, portobello

burger, and black bean veggie burger. There is also a vegetable side dish section. I assume

that you can not eat some of these due to the food phase that you're in but let me know if you want any of the full recipes. I'll copy and send them to you.

Where have you looked so far? That way we don't duplicate anything. You can always google for bariatric and vegan or vegetarian. Dr. Garth Davis would be a good one to follow.

Eggface has a LOT of recipes to choose from. I did a quick "vegetarian" search and came up with this post on her site.

What are some foods that hurt your pouch if you do not mind me asking?

Try "Forks over Knives." They have a beautiful app with wonderful recipes that will help you achieve vegetarian goals.

You can also look up "Dr. Joel Furhman recipies."

"The Engine 2 Diet"

My name is Briana and I'm new here. I've been having some hard time coming up with vegetarian recipes that don't hurt my pouch. I had roux en y on March 16,2015

A lot of vegetarian recipes use lots of dairy products. I've read that many people become lactose intolerant after WLS. If you are using recipes that use dairy products (cheese, yogurt, sour cream, cream cheese, milk, cream, etc), you are getting lactose, so your pain could be simple lactose intolerance.

Since dairy products make my arthritis flare up, I've avoided them for years; so feel free to ask me if you want to try some of the excellent dairy alternatives out there (including a home-made nut-based "cheese" to die for!).

The other culprit could be simple fats/oils. Many vegetarian recipes will replace the loss of flavor from meats with more fats (even the "leanest" meats are naturally very high in fat). You might try some low-fat flavorful recipes. My favorites are from the book "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" by dr. Caldwell Essestyn. Many people rave about free recipes from the happyherbivore.com and fatfreevegan.com, too.

Best of luck!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
