What a long journey....

I was sleeved on Jan 21st and had developed a leak by the 29th. The past four months felt like I lived in hell. I was on TPN for 18 hours a day, had 2 drains hanging out of my stomach one of which started to grow into my pouch, no food or beverages, weekly visits to my surgeon for ct scans or upper G I, and had a stent in for 4 weeks (had to be put under every week because it kept moving). I was so frustrated as I had no idea of this complication before I was sleeved. I would cry at the drop of a pin for no reason most of the time.

Well 2 weeks ago my upper G I showed I was healed (Thank you God) and was able to start liquids and Protein Shakes. This last Thursday my surgeon took me off the TPN and told me to start my meal plan as if I was 2 weeks out from surgery. I have been taking it slowly as I am so scared of getting another leak. I am so happy to start living again!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
