2 Week liquid diet pre-op

Recommended Posts

Hello, my name is Rebecca. My surgery date is June 3. I'm really nervous, but really excited. I'm surprised that some people aren't required to do 2 weeks of liquid diet before surgery. I'm on day 4. Today was the first time I felt hungry. I miss being able to socialize with friends and family over meals:( this is going to be a long two weeks.

  1. You will be glad you did it. Good practice for post surgery and also according to my surgeon it helps your liver get to a reasonable size and keeps it from hanging over the place where they cut. You will also lose weight, so enjoy.

Hi Rebecca! I'm on day 2. I'm one of the lucky ones - just one week - but I hear you. Just keep your eyes on the prize... you'll be so happy to have done this. If you haven't done so yet, I suggest going onto YouTube and searching for VSG or sleeve gastrectomy, etc. You can find great videos people make at different points in their journeys, including this phase. It's wonderful to see them enjoying all the benefits in the weeks and months after surgery. Good luck and stay strong!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
