I'm only 2 months out but by you introducing carbs you might have put yourself in the maintenance phase. I was told to avoid the carbs, even the healthy ones until I hit goal or close to it and then I can start playing with fruits and veggies in my meal.

But if you don't mind a slow weight loss then you can have your fruits and veggies and just add some more exercises.

So all you eat is meat & dairy?

Yes at month 2 im just having meat and diary.. However, I just looked at my month 3 paperwork and I will be approved for fruit and veggies but it just cautions the portion size due to carbs. But since I'm on a fast weight loss track im just going to continue meat and diary for another 4 months or so. I'm 60pds from goal.

Fruit and veggies are not bad but it may slow things down a bit. During my 6 month honeymoon phase I've decided to avoid them.

For the record, my nutritionist has urged me since pre-op to eat (as I can tolerate them) veggies / fruits and whole grains:

1. First, eat all my Protein

2. Then if there's more room add healthy (colored) veggies

3. Then when there's even more room add some fruit

4. Then when there's more room add whole grains

My strong suggestion would be to enjoy your veggies, but please don't drop your Protein. Our bodies need protein every single day to repair our body organs. If you don't eat protein, your body will "eat" your own muscles to get the protein it needs to keep your lungs, heart, etc. all working well.

Best wishes to you.

I eat everything. I seem to have a cast Iron belly that tolerates everything I've tried. I eat salads, but they always include Protein. You don't have to put meat on a salad for Protein. I'm vegetarian so I typically add egg, cheese and Beans to my salads. I make my own dressings so I sometimes emulsify a bit of unflavored Protein powder into the them for an extra protein punch. I can go out to eat and get an appetizer for my main. I still log on MFP daily. I work out 5 - 6 days a week and make sure to have protein pre and post workout.

Thanks for all the suggestions I'm going to see my nutritionist tomorrow I just feel like I'm reverting back to old ways now that my appetite has pick up a bit.. No breads or pastas but just looking for something to eat every hour is annoying so I'll grab a yogurt or some lite cheese...but with doing that I'm not getting in my meals I might just start from scratch and go back to my liquid diet to start again.

Maybe discus meal planning with her so you can figure out how to eat. I plan my meals and my Snacks. This way I know I'm eating a balanced diet including fruit and veg.

I am a little shocked at how little (variety of food) you are eating at 6 to 7 months out. You definitely may want to talk to your NUT about introducing new foods. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
