I was sleeved on Monday and was very nauseous and throwing up Monday night although i was not allowed to eat or drink anything. I was only allowed to wet the inside of my mouth. Anyway, the nurse gave me medicine and that stopped the nausea and vomitting.

Yesterday, I felt great and was able to begin sipping Clear liquids. Had a couple of issues with gas pains, hiccups, etc. but nothing that walking didn't help. Again, the hospital gave me medicine but walking seemed to help more. I really felt good yesterday.

However, I was sent home in the late afternoon and have been miserable since. I got on the scale and was up 8 lbs since monday morning before the surgery. Maybe this is normal but had not seen this mentioned anywhere. Did anyone else have this issue?

Today, the gas pains have continued but I now also have a sore throat and a lump in my throat preventing me from swallowing. I am supposed to begin Protein Shakes today and try to get 64 oz. of liquid down. I have been able to swallow about 2 oz. for Breakfast and same for lunch of the Protein shake and about a cup of propel Water. Is this average for day 3? I have read that most feel better by Day 5 and 6 but not exactly sure what to expect now.

Any advice will help. Thanks in advance.

The IV fluids, your new swollen gut, and the lack of moving your bowels contributed to the weight gain. It is normal for some.

I'm on day 7 and I feel much better. The first 3 days are rough. Speedy recovery!

Hang in there. I came home 7lbs heavier than when I went in. It starts dropping fast.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
