Had my surgery yesterday morning. These waves of pain and nausea are yucky. Plus I occasionally have these episodes of bubbles or spasms on my right side. Hoping it gets better soon!!

I'm at day ten now and it improves so quickly. I'm going on a bike ride later and I did a four mile hike yesterday.

You got this, stay focused on the goals and sleep as much as you can for a couple days. There are so many unexpected wonderful moments right around the corner, you just need to get there.

Good luck.

I was given great advise from another member. Treat recovery like a job. It keeps you focused and pushing ahead towards the easier days. This is serious work walking, drinking and eating sufficiently. Know what you have to accomplish every hour and push through.

Better days are sooooo close.

I am 16 days out and I concur with everyone else--it gets MUCH better, fast! Are you still in the hospital? If you are, let them know that your pain and nausea aren't being handled by the drugs so they can up them or change them. That's their job--don't be afraid to rate your pain as an 8, 9, or 10!

I felt better when I came home, then better at 5 days out, then incrementally better each day. Soon you will hardly remember how much it sucked, I promise!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
