Hi kids, well I am 2 days post-op and I am feeling pretty sore and sorry for myself.

Everything went really well and my surgeon was really pleased with how it all went. The anaesthetic made me a bit nauseous for a while but we got rid of that and now the healing begins.

I can't drive or do much exercise for a few days yet, but that will all come in good time.

I know the real journey is just beginning and I'm really looking forward to it.

My very good friend that stayed at the hospital right throughout my surgery has taken some pictures for me and I'll post them soon.

I have noticed that having milk in my tea isn't sitting very well just yet so I'll be having broth, juice, black tea and Water for a couple of days at least.

I'll check in again in a few days and let you know how I am going.

Have a great weekend everyone.

believe me, you aren't alone in the post-op sore and sorry stage! How are you doing now, since it has been a couple of days since you wrote this? My days 3-4 were ironically my worst. Now (starting my 3rd week today) you would never even know that I had surgery!

Good luck with recovery. Cheers!

It is amazing how every body is different in the healing process. I was very fortunate in my recovery. I was off pain meds and back to work in 3 days. I am almost 7 weeks post op and I don't regret my wls decision. Just hang in there and you will start feeling better soon. Best of luck on your weight loss journey. May you have a happy and healthy new you in 2015!!

Thanks for your well wishes. Now on day 7 and I'm feeling much better. In fact the only soreness I have felt has been at the port site - I haven't felt a single bit of pain at the other incisions. The port site still hurts a bit, but from what I understand that will last a little while yet. I can move pretty freely and started driving again today which was amazing. In all I feel pretty great. I've had a few moments where I've suddenly thought that I may have overdone it at that time but that is really all. I've taken the dog for a few little walks, but not very far. The poor thing looks up at me as if to say "come on, is that all you've got? let's go further". I'm back at work on Monday which I am actually looking forward to.

Ssssooooo exciting to hear from you all. I was banded on November 12 and I am feeling great. My port site was pretty painful until just last week, but I am exceedingly grateful that my recovery has been so smooth. I couldn't be happier with my decision!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
