I've been thinking the same thing. I think it would be ok as long as the Soup has been strained so there are no food pieces swallowed. I think creamy Soups are part of the full liquid diet, which based on the guidance I was given can start on day 3 post - op.

Well, I think the harm maybe if your surgeon has you on clear liquids and you want to do full. I was on Water and broth for 10 days and lived to tell about it. Take care of yourself and that new tiny baby tummy. Best.

You can always ask your surgeon if you can move forward early. I started full liquids a couple days early because I had an interview to go to so I needed my brain working and the clear liquids weren't helping that. I just called and asked if I could have some milk or hot cocoa, and they said if there wasn't any other issues that it would be fine. You have to communicate what you need and what you're doing though, that way if something does happen, heaven forbid, everyone is on the same page.

I drank strained hearty Soups. It gave me a variety of flavors. Examples are chicken vegetable, beef vegetable, French onion. Once strained they have the clear liquid consistency. It isn't as thick as the Protein Shakes I was supposed to be drinking. Also sugar free Jello counted as a liquid too. It was a great treat. Sugar free Popsicles were good too.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
