Hello all! I am less than a week away from my big day and I am finding myself restless. I don't know if I'm anxious about starting my new chapter or what's going on. But I'll wake up two or three times a night and just lay there. Maybe I'm stressing myself out over a while bunch of things at once. I'm not sure. I just want a good night's sleep

I think this is very normal before surgery! Everybody gets anxious there are s many things to think about. Just plan for what you can and try to let go of what you can't . Make sure you have the best support system possible in place and have your post op shopping done. You will be just fine! Make sure you have a nice TV and lots of books in your recovery zone for when you get home it will help ! Also make sure someone picks up your medication before you come home so you will have your pain medicine and stomach cramping meds available when you need them. Take care.

I think you qualify as perfectly normal! lol Before my surgery it was all I could think about. Now, all I think about is how great I feel, when I'm going to exercise next and what clothes I'm going to need to buy when my office goes back to business casual after Labor Day (we're jeans in the summer).

Anybody who understands the surgery will be nervous beforehand. It's a huge change, lots can happen (good and bad) and it is not a decision to be taken lightly. Just try to keep yourself busy. My surgery was early June. I went through my closet and put all my big winter clothes into bags. After surgery, I dumped them... won't be that size again.

Best wishes for wild success!

Thank tot all for the kind words but here it is again around four a.m. and I'm up, seems to be a pattern lately same time. I guess you can say I've been stressed out a lot lately. With my surgery in less than a week, waiting ona letter from mytherapist that saysI've seen her, being in a job I severely dislike, looking for a different vehicle. It's all hanging over me like one big dark cloud. I guess now is the time to use the coping skills I was taught in therapy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
