I AM LOST AND I HAVE HIT A WALL

Recommended Posts

I had lap band on March 5th 2014 upon release from the hospital I felt like I was about to live the life I was meant too with weight loss. Then the weight loss wall hit and hit hard I was 349 to 275 and have been there for 2 months. My diet is very minimal bad food but I am not without sin. I exercise regularly and very intense. I do not know what to do. I used to look foreword to weighing in now I stay away from the scale in fear of weight gain. I have had 3 fills and have some restriction based on the meal and the day. I know what some will say " look at what you have accomplished" but to me I am no where ear where I should or want to be. What do I do what am I doing wrong is this normal am I doomed.

I am in the same boat, so I started doing everything I did when I was losing: going to the gym, documenting all foods that went into my mouth, making sure I get all my Protein, making sure I take all my supplements, wearing my cpap (yuck) and going to bed at a decent hour. (Edited to add Measuring food too so I don't eat too much, and slowing down--even using a timer sometimes).

Do you need another fill? Or maybe to meet with the nutritionist or doc to get some motivation?

Since you are exercising so well, perhaps you are gaining muscle? Either way, keep it up!!

Having your band filled so that you feel satiety is the total key to making this work. New banders have a difficult time recognizing the satiety signals and fail to stop eating in time.

If your band is not filled as it should be, you will be hungry and you will make mistakes just as you did when you dieted. Keep getting fills till you can eat a small meal and stay satiated for up to 4 hours.

Do not throw in the towel. I went 4 months without losing a lb and it took 3 fills before I started to feel satiety and 3 more to reach the green zone.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
