How old you was when you was banded?

Recommended Posts

I'm 16 and turning 17 on Halloween...I have an appt. on Sept. 30th with my doctor about getting banded. I really need the surgery and i just want to know how old you usually have to before you get banded.

And also:

What's the deal with the insurance company and the whole age thing?

And...whats the process of actually doing the surgery...For example, how long do you have to wait until you can do it and what you have to do before the surgery...(appointments...tests...)

Sorry if it doesn't make any sense...lol:blush:

I'm 19 and I was banded a few months ago. To get all the answers you need, you'll want to have your parents (or whoever you're insured under) to call the insurance company and find out if Lapband is covered and then the requirements, etc.

The timeline really differs from person to person.

i was baned when i was 14 (i'm 17 now)

when i got my band done the insurance wouldn't cover the op, and you had to be over 18 100 lb over wieght and BMI over 40

so i got it done in mexico at OCC with Dr. Ortiz

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
