1st Fill since operation & bought size 14 River Island clothes

Recommended Posts

Got my first fill done today at the Hospital Group in Dublin....my nurse found my port no bother and tried to but 2mls in ....I drank 2 mouthfuls of Water and got the tightness in my back....so my nurse told me to lay down and she took .5mls out....so in total I had 1.5mls put in today........I meet my sister for lunch .....I ate four mouthfuls and had to leave the food....the waitress asks was the food not up to standard.....I had to lie and tell her I had had a big breakfast.....I did not feel guilt at leaving the food as I could physically not eat any more food....even better I bought all size 14 dresses and tops in River Island today....my sister had to tell me to put back the size 18's I was use to getting....feel great and only 6 weeks since my operation

Thanks Mimi :)

I tried four small crackers and a slice of cheddar today.....by God I was barely into cracker number three when I got the pain in my back.....I so wanted to finish eating but could not.....had to wait 5 minutes before the pain went......I never thought a cracker could be so painful :wink2: Will have to see how the crisps go ....but I doubt I will be able to eat a small can of Pringles now.......saying that feel great and everyone is saying how great I look :)

Hi! Starandmoon

You should have your fill 6 weeks after your operation as you would still be swollen from the operation...Cora seems to be busy and the Hospital Group seem to have too many people wanting fills coming up to Christmas hence it is hard to get an appointment....Give Emma a call and tell her you are not happy and you may have to blog your unhappiness on this forum ....you should get a date pretty quick....It will take about 3 to 4 fills before you find your 'sweet spot' I am over a year now and just got another fill which is my max about 3 weeks ago....doing well...any questions feel free to give me a shout!

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
