Hey WI Jen,

I am in the Township of Grafton but actually closer to Port Washington. We usually pack up the dogs in our truck and head into Port to walk the downtown area. I see your surgery is scheduled in a few weeks. My surgeon was Dr. Regan of Columbia-St. Mary's. He and his staff are just awesome! Best of luck to you!

Hi,

I am very new to this - I live in New Mexico and was banded in Mexico. I have lost only 20 lbs. so far and got my first fill in late November. I have a 10 cc band and got 2 cc for my first fill. I have no idea if I am on track or totally off course.

I need to do my part which I haven't been doing. I need to start exercising and watch what I eat. I am also considering getting another fill soon.

In New Mexico we can only go to a fill center so I have had almost no aftercare. I just need to get my head on straight and reach out to others.

Any response would be much appreciated. Thank you.

I had my surgery on 10/26 - and as of today i am down 38 lbs. I didn't do the pre-op diet so this is all post op and my doctor doesn't do fills until 90 days. So my first fill is on 01/27/10 and i can't wait bc this loss is purely from self control. I lost control during the holidays after which I did the 5 day test and last week alone i lost 6 lbs. I am glad to be back in control but i also see how easy it is to loose control over food. I am not ready to trust myself to eat just small portions of the unhealthy foods. I am eating lots of sea food and drinking Water. So far so good

I was banded 10/15 -- have lost 30#. Also did NOT do pre surgery special diet of any kind .. My biggest problem is exercise .. Both knees are bad , one already replaced ( not a good outcome) and I refuse to have the other done. I still use a walker on cold or rainy days . Once weather warms up, I WILL be out walking , with or without the walker. I figure any walk is better than none .

BTW Stacy, Congrats on your great weight loss !!!

My 6 mo anniversary is next Tuesday, I have lost 48 pounds. It would be really cool to lose another 2 by Tuesday but I am not going to get my hopes up. I seem to be on a lose 2-3 pounds at once, wait 10 days cycle and I lost 3 pounds last weekend so... I am going to be happy with my 48 or whatever it turns out to be.:)

I was banded October 2nd. I am down 80lbs and feeling great. Still have a bit to go, would love to loose another 50 lbs or so but overall very happy with the decision and the process.

I was banded Oct 15 and am down about 45 lbs. I am so pleased with my progress. It has been a slow but steady rate. I go back to my doctor for another weigh in and fill tomorrow. I am so thankful I took the big step to be banded. Good luck to all.:)

I am still at 47# loss. I seem to be stuck..

Guess I will schedule a fill for May

Getting a fill is now a major process for me .. My doctor is in Texas ( 7 hours away). Our daughter used to live there, now she has moved and we used to stay with her a couple of days when drive down , now we drive down, get my fill turn around and drive 1/2 way home before getting a hotel for the night

No I won't change doctors.. Mine is great and I am soooo comfortable with him AND his staff.

Gosh it is hard to believe that it has been six months already. I'm currently down 94.4 Pounds. Really looking forward to breaking that first 100 pounds. Honestly this process has been interesting, and it's amazing how little effort it takes to lose the weight, and yet, it is also amazing just how quickly I find myself wanting to fall back into old habits.

I am happy that I made this change. I do miss soda though.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
