I think the Foxy Pappa's might get offended

There's a Feb. 2010 group that has a name of Feb's Funky Bandits. Check it out at - LAP-BAND

I usually see the group vote but the name is catchy :)

Welcome and good luck!

#7. What was your deciding factor for having this surgery? I want to be healthy for my future. I don't have any children (yet) and will be getting married in 2010 and I don't want to carry this burden on. Also, I have high colesterol, painful joints, high blood pressure and want to avoid taking medication for as long as possible for these issues.

#7. Do you have the support of family and friends? Yes for the few I've told however, a few (of the few) are not happy that I'm going to Mexico.

#8. Concerns and questions? Social Engagements in the beginning post-op stages are worrying me.

Many of you may see that I want to lose 70lbs and want to tell me to hit the road but I'm only 4'11" and every diet I've tried just makes me hungry!

The biggest thing is, and i hope I dont offend any one.....I am now having a hard time wiping my ass properly!!! ugh I cant believe I said that!!

Kathy, please don't ever think you are alone! I have the same problem.

Plus I sweat alot under my belly (between my crotch and belly button) and when I dry it with a towel it gets irritated. Does anyone else have that issue?

Everyone has a different body type, height, goals, etc........ don't let anyone make you feel bad about your choices - they are, after all, YOUR choices.

Welcome and good luck!

Hey all just looking to make some connections with some! Im going in on Feb 11th..woohoo, Im so glad to be able to "announce" that I finally have a DATE!!! Im going for my sleep study tomorrow night...yay! NOT, LOL. Ah well got to go thru all the stuff...lol. So anyone else out there looking for support, chat etc msg me =)

I like it!!!

It seems like a few of us are scheduled for the 8th. That's cool!

Those who are having surgery on the 8th, when do you start your pre-op diet? I have my "nutrition class" this Thursday, and I think I'm supposed to start the diet a week from today. That's 3 weeks. I'm really worried that I am going to struggle a lot with the pre-op diet.

Michelle

Michelle I spoke to my doctor today and he said....I dont need a pre-op diet. Just the day before to drink liquids. I thought this was strange...however he said that if you are a certain BMI then you might. Im glad as I was worried about this initial stage more then anything else. Good Luck with the pre-op im here for support however !!

Not telling you to hit the road...and just to let you know....I have a friend who was banded and she is 4'11" and she lost 80 pds and she looks amazing!!! You will as well!

Jodi

I am so excited, I will be bannded Feb. 11, 2010. I live in Miami, Florida. I am having the surgery because I have tried numerous times to try and lose the weight, and I don't have the commitment to stick to a diet for more that a couple of weeks. I know that if I don't get this done, I will just end up gaining more and more weight. I am so excited to see what the future holds. I am a little bit nervous about going under, but I don't even want to think about it because if I do, I won't want to have the surgery. I hope to be able to share this journey with everyone else that will be bannded in Feb. good luck.

#9. Concerns and questions? Something going wrong during surgery and my 2 kids not have a mom any more. And the unknown once I am banded.
