Hi ladies, its been awhile since I last posted. I seen the doc. today and decided to have my band removed. I was scheduled for port revision in april and the week of surgery changed my mind. I should be having surgery in the next few weeks.

I feel its the best choice. The past year and a half have been difficult, I was vomiting, burping excessively, coughing and basically unhappy with the whole thing.

I'm still taking my Water aerobics class and have lost 10 pds. I'm getting stronger and now taking classes on saturday. they can vary from kickboxing, zumba, ect.

ladies keep up the good work.

Sandy

I am sorry to hear about you being unhappy with your band.

I burp non stop lol But I am used to it and can usualy do it quietly. lol But one usualy slpis out that is REALLY loud at a bad time...but I just laugh and go on. I am sorry to hear about the vomiting and any other problems you have had.

Good luck with your personal journey.

Just an update. I had my band removed on April 6 and revised to a Gastric Bypass at the same time. This was the best thing I ever did for myself. I am so happy with the results and realize now that I should have done this a year ago. I had trouble with the band since day 1. I had a lot of scar tissue built up around the band and it was rubbing against my liver. I am enjoying life so much right now. I am sleeping through the night which I haven't done in over a year with the reflux and pb'ing every night. It even gave me pneumonia once. And I can EAT. I am having to be careful because I am od'ing on fruits and vegetables which I could not eat the entire time with the band with the exception of bananas and pureed veggies. I have been able to eat everything I have tired without any issues. I love my bypass. I haven't lost much since surgery (20 pounds) but I am near the end of my journey. It's been a long 3+ years but so worth it.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
