Officially had my 1st PB today. I just had to have that 1 pretzel on my way out the door from work didn't I?? I wasn't even hungry!! That'll teach me (prob not). Have any of you had this happen....I went for fill#3 on Friday. I always have the PA do my fills and we both thought that at fill #2 I was at 4cc's. She pulls all of the Fluid out each time to check and at fill # 3 I was only at 3cc's. I lost a cc somewhere! Where did it go?? She told me not to worry it's not uncommon, but do I have a leak??? So now I am at 3.6cc's and hopefully when I go back on April 23rd they will all still be there.

it's me....missing in action girl.

A friend of mine went in for lapband last week--and they couldn't do it. ;( still unclear of the details or weather or not she gets another shot.

I am so sad for her....all that money and nothing to show for it.

I decided that I need to work even harder in honor of her. and I realized I *have* been eating around my band. I am still eating smaller portions and losing 1lb a week but I haven't been following some of the rules.

I have a 10 day challenge for myself...from now until good friday I am going to be even more mindful--- following all the rules and documenting every bite. We will see how that goes.

I had coffee at 7:30 am and postponed Breakfast ( greek yogurt with Special K flakes) until 10:30. It didn't kill me.

Getting ready to eat my lunch black Beans and cottage cheese.< /p>

I miss you all.....and need to get better at posting.

PS--- My hubby bought me a bike for our anniversary last week. We spent all weekend on the trails. That is a HUGE NSV for me~

@Joy-Sorry to hear about your friend!

I posted this on the regular board...and got no responses..so I will try here

Have any of you tried the couch to 5k program, and if so does it work?? I would LOVE to be able to jog a 5k. I know I need to approach it slowly because I have bad knees (even though I am not even 29) and when I was on my 6mo pre-op diet I was trying some jogging and ended up with 5 stress fractures in my foot and a cast for almost 2 months . I know that being able to jog will help so much with the weight loss....just not sure of the best way to approach it. Any insight will be greatly appreciated!!

No, I hate running, always have, always will. I've read about this and lots of people seem to like it (is that really possible? lol) I think if you go to the fitness boards there is a post about the C25K. Good luck!

I got my fourth fill yesterday. I actually lost one pound in the two weeks from my last visit. I'm really not sure how as for the last week I've been eating like a starving cow! Two weeks ago when I went in for a fill I was in the midst of a cold which made my band really tight and my appetite non-existent. So I didn't get a fill. Once I got over my cold my appetite came roaring back and my restriction fled for its life! I also didn't exercise at all during this time.

I'm ready to get back into the swing of things.

My friend saw the surgeon today for a follow up and wrote me this:

He said that when he got in my stomach was swollen with gas, they couldn't get the tube far enough down my throat to expel the gas. My liver was large and actually over the stomach and down into my abdomen. With the small space, and the extended stomach and large liver he just couldn't see what he was doing. He did not think he could safely place the band without seeing what he was doing. He indicated that after seeing everything, he didn't feel like WLS was a safe option for me. He said there probably are surgeons out there that would do surgery and they may be successful, but that would be my decision. I told him I didn't want to do anything that wasn't safe for me.

I feel so bad for her.

Logging everything yesterday made me alot more conscious of not snacking. Let's home it shows a loss tomorrow when I step on the scales.....

I have one pair of pants that still fit. Good news, but I have got to get the time to go shopping. I am down 2 sizes since surgery.

So you think our bands get looser and tighter on their own? I had never thought of that. I just thought that after a while they got looser and need a fill, you get a fill, and then wait for it to get loose again. So you're saying it can "feel" tighter whether you get a fill or not? I've never THOUGHT about it, but now I will!

I did this 2 years ago and it was a great program!!! I was 2 weeks out from the run when my back went out ( I have a bad back)so I couldn't do it after all. I gave up after that, but may try again someday. I really feel that I want to be less heavy before I do it again because it was a lot of weight to bear on my knees and back. I agree with Viv that walking is great right now.

Hi All,

I have been looking for some current posts from December Bandsters 2009 and I guess most that are still active are here? Anyway, just wanted to know how everyone was doing. Also curious to know approx how many cc's in a 10cc band that the average person gets to their sweet spot? I only have 3cc's at the moment and am do back for another fill on 4/6/10. I am hoping that this next fill will curb some of my hunger between meals. I cannot or do not eat bread (except for an occasional very well toasted piece of multi-grain toast) cuz it all gets stuck and I get stuck if I eat too much but I do not get the feeling of being full before I take that one last bite that was too much. Just wondering what someone that has reached their sweet spot experiences?

51.5 lbs lost so far:thumbup:

I haven't posted in a while. Almost 3 months post op and currently I've lost 12 pounds which is what I lost after three weeks so I've had two months and no weight loss. It seems like I eat nothing so it's a mystery to me how I am not losing. Last night went for chinese because my daughter wanted it. Now normally I would have had three plates at the buffet. Last night I had about 6 pieces of Sweet and Sour chicken and three bites of rice. That's it. It takes me forever to eat so I have restriction but I am never full. I just stop eating because it takes so long to finish stuff.

I'm almost afraid to get another fill because I have to eat so slow now but I haven't lost any weight in two months....

Anyone else in this boat? I know Bellyfat was feeling like this a while back.

I was weighed this morning at the surgeon's office; I am usually 2 pounds heavier there than at home, which is understandable as at home I weigh myself butt naked, first thing in the morning and at the docs I'm dressed and have had breakfast. This morning I weighed the same on both scales - surprise! I thought I had only lost 4 lbs since my last fill, a month ago, but the doc said it was 6lbs - I'll take his numbers. I had a 1cc fill, giving me a total of 6cc's now. Doc said it should take one or two small fills to get to the sweet spot. I'll see him in another month.

After my fill I went shopping, I wanted a new pair of jeans - what did I buy? a pair of Caprie pants. I got another surprise - I had gone down another size,(2 sizes since op) they are a 14!!!!! I have not been in a 14 for years. I guess although I don't think I am loosing that much my body must be changing.

BTW - I asked the doc about doing something to work my ab area, he said to take it very easy if I did. If I felt any pulling to stop, as I would be stretching the tubing. He added that, the tummy area will go down eventually and to only do light ab work if I felt a need to.

Maybe it is a difference of choice. We went out last night, too, and I ordered a small chicken and brocolli without the rice and ate about 2/3 of a cup. That made it about 220 calories, as opposed to the approximate 500 calories for the sweet and sour chicken.

I don't have much restriction at all. I figure that I would rather the options be more available (like a small whole wheat bagel for 100 calories with an egg for breakfast). I have to keep my calories below 1000 to lose due to the thyroid issues contributing to a slow metabolism.

Hello December Delights,

It's been a while since I've posted, and I hope that you are all doing well and looking forward to warm weather. I most certainly am. I've had some success since my last post. I had previously been too tight, but that has been corrected and I've even had a fill since then. I went to a support group meeting at my doctors office earlier this month and felt a little disappointed about my weight loss compared to some of the others. There was one lady who had lost 78 lbs since her surgery in November. I have only dropped 25 since my surgery in December. I was thinking "Man, I must be doing something wrong". However, I have come to the conclusion that everyone is different and losing at my own pace is fine, as long as I get to my goal. It might take me a little longer, but I'm ok with that. I am down 8 pounds since my last fill, which was about 3 weeks ago (around the time of the support meeting). I've started setting a walking goal for myself each week, usually 25 miles and then I either hit the road or walk at home with the "walk away the pounds" DVD. I'm up to 5 miles a day and oh so excited about it. I also try to do zumba twice a week at the gym. I feel very motivated and will do what I have to do to reach my goals. It is very nice to have you guys to reach out to for support and I'd like to thank each of you who have responded when I really needed help. Hugs to all of you!!!

You're right - forget everyone else's pace. You're doing fabulously!! All that walking is burning calories AND making you tighter. Good work!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
