This band is upsetting me

What the heck! I am 9 weeks post op and have 3 fills and today at Thanksgiving dinner I could eat like I never got the darn thing. What gives. I had no pain and have never got anything stuck ever. Am I doing damage eating more than 1 cup? I do I feel just like I did before the band. Im getting frustrated.

Its me again. Its not like I went to dinner wanting to eat just turkey. I wanted to eat a little of everything. Not a lot of everything. Gosh thats why I wanted this band so I didnt have to eat salads all my life.

Its more than likely you just haven't hit your sweet spot yet. Once you do everything will be great with your band! Hang in there!

It's weird, Marmar, but I am tight at 6.25 and still managed to eat alot today at family dinner. Yet I could only eat half a serving of breakfast oatmeal. How many cc/ml do you have? If they were little fills then that is why you are still hungry. I am sorry you are frustrated, but it will get better.

Well I have a 14 cc band and have 7cc plus in it. Thanks for your replies. I just want to be able to eat small amounts and think wow Im done. I could have kept eating but I stopped myself. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

It took me six months and six or seven fills to get good restriction; until then there was very little i couldn't eat, and most of the time it felt like I'd never had surgery. I finally hit my sweet spot, and it's been smooth sailing every since. You'll get there eventually!

I feel the same exact way and I am also 9 weeks post op!

I get my third fill on Thursday...I hope it helps!

I have three fills (6.75cc in a 11cc band) and I still have to monitor everything I eat. I guess this is bandser's hell that everyone talks about. I have to be careful but I know that I am getting close b/c some days I feel restriction and others I don't. So hang in there...you'll get there soon. Just be tough and don't overeat just b/c it's there. Have some control

Did you drink with your meals?

My doc said no drinking with meals but never said why. Then I read a book about lap-bands and it says drinking with meals will cause the food to go right thru the band and you wont get your full sensation. I have had one fill and I can tell I am restricted only when I do not drink with meals.

I haven't had any fills yet but have restriction just from the band with certain foods. However, if I drink while eating those foods, that restriction disappears because the Water is helping the food slide through. Are you drinking with your meals?

.

I fell the same way. I have had 2 fills already but have felt no difference in the amount I could eat. I do have to say my willpower is stronger than it used to be, I have been able to turn away from sweets now since the surgery but never did before. However, I think my willpower is what is helping me lose the weight, not the band.

Today I am starving. I just can't satisfy it at all. I had my normal oatmeal for bfst, tuna for lunch, and a turkey sandwich for dinner. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayo on white bread. I still felt starved and wound up eating crackers and cheese, almost a whole boursin cheese, 6 oz. I feel somewhat full now but I think I could probably eat more if I could find something to eat.

I see my Dr on Thursday and hope this fill will take care of my hunger, my willpower is starting to lag and those Christmas candies and cookies looked so good today at the store.

I hear ya I feel like Im doing this on willpower too and I know myself and know I cant do this forever. By the way I was banded 3 days before you:)

Hi,I was banded 9/18 and feel the same way. I have a 9cc band and 6ccs in it. I feel restriction If I eat bread with my protein or i eat about a cup or of solid food, sometimes a little more. i worry i am stretching my pouch. i will be getting another fill 12/9 hope that's the magic fill. you're not alone.

I feel the exact same way. I was banded on 9/8 and have had 2 fills and have 6ccs in right now. I've never had any stuck episodes or vomiting etc and I can eat all types of food. You would think that's a good thing but considering almost everyone has these problems at least once or twice I'm kind of concerned that I haven't. I also feel like I had more restriction before my 2nd fill which doesn't make sense. I noticed I had restriction for about 3 days after my 2nd fill and then I was back to eating normal portions. I'm definitely getting frustrated as well! Although i do drink with all my meals so I need to try and change that and see if that helps. I'm really hoping the next fill brings some restriction! UGH!
