  1. I think I would call your dr's office and ask them. I have had about 6 fills. after about my 3 rd one i would feel restriction for about a day my next fill maybe 3 days next fill maybe a week. now i think i am at my sweet spot. i can no longer guzzle Water and if meat is too dry or if i have bread it hurts to go down both are now a no no( gets stuck and i have to pb it up) I really have to chew chew chew and eat slow now. I was hoping i would get full on a very small amount but not so much for me. My fear is that if i have more restriction i will avoid the Proteins I should be eating and eat slider foods and never get full. Good luck to you, Barb
  2. How much does stress affect the ability to lose weight? I have been struggling for almost 2 months to lose any weight. I've been under a tremendous amount of stress for the last month or so. I've changed my diet and exercise a lot more per my nut/ Added more aerobic and weight training. I saw a 3-4 pound increase since working out more which seems reasonable. But no weight loss. Getting discouraged and need some advice PLEASE!!! :w00t: Barb
  3. I lose and gain the same 3 pounds for 3 weeks and then my lowest weight becomes my highest and I yoyo again. It sucks but that's my body. My surgeon tells me we don't constantly lose it's more of like a staircase lose a little, stabilize, lose a little, stabilize. Personally i put my scale away cause it's just making me frustrated. I'm going by the way my clothes fit at this point. My Nut told me to change up the food and put more carbs in my diet. I was only getting them from fruits and veggies. I know I need to drink more water. I joined a gym 2/9 and gained 3 pounds and my thighs and calves are larger/ I know it's a temporary thing and I feel a ton better. I have to quit beating myself up over the number. and concentrate on how i look and feel Oh well That's Barb's thought for the day.
  4. I'm finally at restriction and agree that reheated or overcooked meats are dry and hurt. Hamburger and fish are my proteins of choice lately. Soft tortilla's hurt too. I can eat crunchy just not soft. I can eat regular bread tho. I can eat pasta rice and potato with no problem.
  5. I was told the exact same thing. Walk a minimum of 30 minutes daily following surgery and full exercise in 6 weeks. Make sure the Doc gives you the okay and there aren't any contraindications. Barb
  6. I was allowed to have chicken salad and tuna salad at 2 weeks then regular meat at 4-6 weeks. I was encouraged to eat meat and it 1st during a meal, then vegs and finally carbsdue to the protein value and it doesn't slip thru the band as easily.
  7. are you on full liquids? i could have cream of liquids. i had cream of potato, broccoli, broccoli cheese soup blended and strained, pudding, apple sauce i liked the choc/peanut butter protein shakes, hot tea, sf hot cider by alpine at walmart, sf hot cocoa w/ milk sf fudge-sickles by healthy choice. hope this helps
  8. Thanks for all the input. It helps me to understand all the aspects of the band... Thanks again Barb:tt2:
  9. I guess I'm not at full restriction. Am I doing any harm by drinking too fast to the pouch? or is it just sliding thru?
  10. Himow is right. I's about the percentage of weight lost. exercise and where you lose are other key factors. Measure your arms legs hips chest neck etc... you're are losing somewhere. Maybe you rings are getting bigger. Hang in there! Barb
  11. Can you guzzle liquids? Do u have full restriction? why do they say not to drink water too fast? just curious
  12. Nothing to drink 5 minutes before a meal and 30 min after. sometimes I go 45 minutes.
  13. Good for you!!! keep up the good work. You'll be there before u know it!!!!!!!! Barb
  14. It's a good time to find this post. I have been losing and gaining the same 4 pounds for nearly 3 weeks. I get so frustrated at times. I needed to hear others are going thru it too. It's not the 1st time it has happened but it still seems like it is every time it happens. I'll keep plugging away tho. hope the scale moves for all of u fellow plateau-ers. Barb
  15. Had my 5th fill yesterday, I have 9cc in an 11cc band. I think I may have reached my spot. but I tend to decrease swelling after 2 weeks. I'll keep u posted if the restriction goes away again. UGH!My doc is filling at .5cc at a time now. He said I should be there soon.
