  1. You can get through this whatever option you chose : ) I am leaving my husband this Wednesday. I am moving out into my own place and this is after 10 years... I am super motivated and have a great career...my husband has not had a job in a year and is completely not motivated to get one. I still love him, but can't live with his lack of contribution to our marriage. I am worth more than his lack of love (no affection, kind words or sex anymore) and motivation. I hope I am doing the right thing, but I won't know until I do it. I hope this is a wake up call for him because I do love him...I just can't live with him anymore.
  2. I am on my 5th fill...banded on 9/23 I had no restriction with # 1 and #2 # 3 I had restriction and lost 15lbs in the month of December. I had fill # 4 on January 4th and had ZERO restriction...less than before the fill...WEIRDDDD So fill # 5 was last Thursday and I can only eat a tiny amount of food since and am really losing I only have 5.4cc in my 14 cc band!

I don't really have any input except to say that I could have written your posts...I am going through the exact same thing
  4. I had my thrid fill a little over a week ago. For the frist 2 days after I had pretty good restriction, but now that feeling is totally gone. I am not having any problem eating anything and I was before. I am just confused why this would be. I have 3.2 in a APL (14cc?? band) he is telling me that that is the amount in my band and that I have more between the port and the tubing (maybe 2-3cc)....help!! I can't get another fill until 1/5 and I am worried that my progress so far is going to be affected. I am trying to up my workout to compensate. thanks for your advice!!

  6. I never eat Taco salads from Wendy's or any other place. I was desperate the other night and have heard alot of people eat Wendy's chili and thought it sounded good. The entire salad is 500 something calories and I ate about half. No need to justify what I ate...I have lost 40lbs in just under 10 weeks....pretty good I think! My usual salads consist of lots of veggies etc and I usually have no problem eating them at all and they really fill me up.
  7. I have had decent restriction lately tonight after a hard workout I stopped at Wendy's and got a Southwest salad which is Chili and lettuce a little cheese and tortilla strips..... I was able to eat all of the chili and half of the salad....this is way more than usual wondering why I was able to eat so much more tonight??
  8. I did my first 5K today!! I ran walked the entire thing and didn't die!! I am 327lbs and if I can do it anyone can!! Next one in Jan...now working on improving my time!! Had to brag...I am so excited! YAY!!
  9. Linda- Thanks it does make me feel better! I guess I am just confused and obsessed at the moment. I am thinking that I am doing ok because this AM I took off the couple of ponuds that I had put on. It is just such a learning experience with all of the changes in my body.
  10. I know that I have been eating more over the past 2 weeks especially the last 2 days.... how do you know if you stretch your pouch?
  11. I did really great the first 2 months PO, but now in the past few days I have really been eating alot more than I should be. I have a fill scheduled for thursday, but I am wondering if because I am eating more than I should be if I am in danger of stretching my pouch?? I had my second fill about 4 weeks ago and lost weight initially in the first week or two after my fill. I have now been plateaued for the past 2 weeks and may have even gained a pound....has this happened to anyone else? Thanks:mellow:
  12. I feel the same exact way and I am also 9 weeks post op! I get my third fill on Thursday...I hope it helps!
  13. My first stuck came at my Dr.'s office after my first fill....He had put too much fluid in the band and I sat up to drink....could not get even a sip of water down. I was in pain and sliming bad. The nurse had to get Dr. to remove some of the fluid. I have been stuck a couple of times since then, but I can easily bring it right back up. It is painful for the moment, but not too bad.
  14. Don't worry about the pain...the numb the area with lidocane and then access the port. The only thing that I felt was just some pressure when he was pusing on my abdomen to feel the port area. Thanks everyone else...I'm glad I am not the only one!!
  15. I was banded on 9/23. I have lost 20lbs, but not because I have been feeling any restriction. I am using sheer will power to get this weight off. I had my second fill last thrusday and I felt some restriction right after, but I was on liquids and mushies for 2 days. Saturday I tried to eat and got stuck after 1 bite at every meal and the food had to come up. I even thought for a brief second that the band might have been too tight, but then.......... Sunday....no restriction at all. I was able to eat any foods that I wanted from shrimp to white meat chicken and salad and did not feel any restirction....I mean none Why would this happen?? today not feeling any either....
  16. My surgery was 9/23 as well. I asked for my first fill early and had it 2 weeks ago. I just had my second fill yesterday. First fill he put in 7 cc's explaining that 3 would stay in the tubing and port...so 4 in my band I couldn't swallow even 1 sip of water. He took out 2cc's and that left 2 in my band. Yesterday I had 1.2 cc more put in and I still don't feel that much restriction...weird... I know I have some because I am loosing weight, but I feel like I am eating more than I should be. I hope 3 times is a charm, but he doesn't want to see me for 6 more weeks
  17. Hi! I had surgery the same day as you did. I went to Dr. 1 1/2 week post op and had lost 14lbs. Went back today for my 1st fill and had only lost 1 more.....the reason is "bandster hell" the period between surgery and your first fill where you have no restriction. I honestly felt like nothing had been done to me....so, you are not alone. Today for my first fill Dr. put in 5cc's...said that 2-3 remain in port/tube so only 2-3 would be in band...well, I could not swallow water (even one sip). I immediately threw up and it hurt really bad. So he came back in and took out about 2cc's...I instantly felt better. I just drank some chocolate milk and i can feel restriction!! Here's hoping that I have some restriction!! You will feel better after getting your first fill, but even then I have heard that it could take a couple of fills to feel restriction!! Good Luck!!
  18. Wow!! This thread took on a life of it's own!! I am LOVING these blogs!!
  19. Sorry to butt in on your thread :frown: but i saw you guys were banded a day apart from me and I went for my follow up today....down 14.8, but I am bigger than both of you!! I am on solid food as of today and just told to be really careful, chew well and go slow! I also have a fill scheduled for Oct 15th....after begging!!
  20. How did they fill you? My Dr. may want to fill me at 2 weeks post-op but my incision, where the port is, has a nice scab over the entire thing. Also....followup appointment today. Can you think of any questions that you did not ask that you wish you did. Thanks!!:frown:
  21. Gina-the bloating will not last forever..mine did last for a week though. I was so bloated (i gained 10lbs when i got home from the hospital), i felt like something was wrong because i did not think a person could be this bloated. It finally went away...I lost the 10 gained + 8 more so far!! For the ticker just click on mine and it should take you there
  22. Thanks guys!! I was thinking it might be "bandster hell", but I thought it is too early. I was trying to be in denial....ha!! I go to my surgeon on Monday and we will see what he has to say. I know that I have no fill in my band right now as he doesn't fill at surgery. I am leaving for vacay on 10/23 and hoping to get a small fill before...he usually does one at 4 weeks!
  23. Hi I was banded on 9/23....surgery went flawlessly as did recovery! I feel great 100% Walked 2 miles last night etc... My only concern is that I feel no restriction. I just ate a baked potato smashed up to mashed consistency and I stopped myself after about 1/2 of it, but not because I fel full.....just because I knew that was about all I should be eating. Is it ok to not feel restriction right now? I feel tight at night after exercise, but that is usually after eating dinner and an hour or so later, but other than that I pretty much feel noting at all. Thanks for your help!!
  24. I was banded on the 23rd....I am at the mushy stage now and doing great. I also had 1 night in the hospital and thought day 2 was worse than day one....every day since then has been better and better!! My stomach is still badly bruised though!!
