Your walking blog reminds me of one of my friends from college, Melodie (by the way I love that name!). He would just go out walking on the weekends, and we wouldn't see him for hours at a time because he was off on a walk.

hey all thought I would pop in and say Happy Holidays and hope we all are big loosers after Christmas.

Since surgery I have lost 12 pounds, Since Aug. I have lost a total of 37 Pounds. I too am losing slowly, but on average its about 1.8 pounds per week, so I cannot complain. I just have to remember to get more Protein in because now being 4 weeks post op I am feeling hunger, but I am now onto the soft food phase and its much better then the blended.

I too really don't see how pple can gain on the mushie I was barely reaching 800 calories per day. But everyone is different.

Best Wishes to All and Happy Holidays Elizabeth:thumbup::)

Where is everybody???

Getting ready for Christmas Eve here. It's tradition in my husband's family to have dinner at my in-laws and then open stockings and just visit for the evening.

My youngest son is studying to be a chef and his contribution to the stockings is a homemade caramel apple for each person. I am very thankful for my new 8 cc fill because I don't think I would've made it past this temptation but now 'Hilda' will keep me honest cuz there's no way caramel or an apple will make it past her right now.

I have about 4 hours until we leave so think I'll go take a nap. :)

Hello all, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and to have lots of fun with your family.

I've been doing well, my secret santa at work bought me a Biggest Loser Weight scale. Never thought I'd be so happy to accept one. I'm doing very well...almost at 20lbs lost. I've managed to lose about 2lbs a week in the past two weeks. So I can't complain. I go in for my first fill on the 29th.

Hey guys and gals! I was supposed to be banded Nov. 19th but there was a big change in plans. While proceeding with the band we discovered I had renal cell carcinoma on my left kidney and something on my liver. The surgery was post-poned until all doctors could meet. The surgery for partial kidney removal was on Dec. 16 and we were able to schedule the liver biopsy and band at the same time. I got a 3-fer! Boy was I in some pain. Pretty much all procedures were on the same side. I now have 10 beautiful holes where all the "digging" and "poking" was done. Lapband was a blessing in disguise for me. I have my post-op with the urologist on Jan. 5th. The doctor called to tell me that the pathology reports came back and he did get it all. Yah!!!! The liver is still in question but will be seeing the doctor soon to find out what more we need to do.

As far as hunger, I hit that on day 6 post-op. Didn't feel hungry until that day. Thank God I had a post-op with the Lapband doc the next day and was moved up to mushies. Woohoo! Doing pretty good so far. This recovery is taking longer than I anticipated. I'm ready to be 100% and I know I will be soon!

Keep your chin up and remember, you are NOT alone!

Hi all! Hope Christmas was everything each of you hoped for

Lost and gained the same pound in the past 4 weeks of mushies. Calorie intake under 1000, plus the Y 4-5 days a week, but still no loss, so it DOES happen even when we do the right thing

Got my first fill this morning. 4cc's in a Realize Band. I *think* Realize is 11 cc total.... Had a pre-injection of lydocain to numb the area, didn't feel anything with the fill. However, I did feel a little nauseus afterwards.

I'm on full liquids now for 48 hours. Just had some creamy chicken Soup for lunch.

I'm still around just not being quite as good as I was with the holidays and all that. I am anxiously awaiting my first fill on New Years Eve morning. It doesn't look like there will be any Snacks for me that night.....oh well.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
