Lost: Two 50-pound bags of sand

I celebrated reaching my goal weight this week. I have lost 100 pounds! I was banded on 3/12/09 and have had two fills. My high weight was 297 and I am currently 195. I currently have 4cc's in my band and my last fill was in May. I have gone from wearing a sized 48 pant to a 34 pant. While I don't advocate this, I have lost my weight without doing any additional exercise. It really feels good to not be carrying the additional weight around any more. I still enjoy having my morning protein shake for breakfast, typically a high protein lean cuisine meal for lunch, whatever my wife makes for dinner (in appropriate amounts) and a skinny cow ice cream sandwich for dessert. I find that my restriction comes and goes...sometimes I can eat half a cheeseburger and sometimes I can only eat two bites. I think part of my success has been weening myself off carbs. It's a good thing that bandsters have trouble eating breads, tortillas, rolls, etc because that was my down fall. Enjoying life and wishing the rest of you the same success.

Congratulations on such a wonderful milestone! What a success story!! 8 months of being banded and 100 lbs--truly an inspiration to someone like me that's one month out and completely stalled on my weight loss.

Celebrate that success! You've earned it!

rmbj0721~You should be so proud of yourself!!!...Way to go!....

Congratulations! I'm very happy for you.

You say you lost the weight without doing any "additional" exercise? Does this mean that you did exercise some? I'm just really curious because I have had to exercise my butt off to achieve the results I have. I don't really mind too much though because I seem to feel happier when I exercise.

Congratulations on your weightloss success! I was banded on 6/8/09 and have lost nearly 60lbs. I, too, have only 4cc in a 10 cc band. What caught my eye in regards to your post is the equating your weightloss to two 50-pound bags of sand. I was in WalMart last night doing some grocery shopping for pie-making ingredients. I picked up a can of Crisco and realized that I've nearly lost 20 cans of Crisco. And since Crisco is fat/lard, I thought the comparison was appropriate! :bored:

WOOT! Congratulations!

WOW!!! Congratulations - Some more tips would be a great help to the rest!

Congrats on loosing 2 bags of sand. I too have lost 100 pounds but sadly i still have 40 more to go. My ticker don't reflect 100 pounds but i didn't start it at my actual weight. I really don't know actual weight because 350 pound scale would not weigh me.

Anyway i'm well on my way :bored:

congratulations. I was banded on 8-10-09. I have had two fills the last one two weeks ago, i have lost from 289 to 220. but this week my weight loss has stalled. been bouncing from 220 to 221 all week. I guess i need to start walking more.. LOL. cant wait to get back on track this has inspired me..

Congratulations!!

CONGRATS!

They always say everything in moderation. It sounds like you have bonded with your band and gained the benefits of it.

I am so happy for you i know you feel like a new man. I know your wife is very proud of you. Great job and the best of luck in the future.

You have lost 60 pounds in three months god that is wonderful. Great job

Congrats. Now pat yourself on the back three times and smile, smile, smile. You deserve it.

I'm sure you feel and look so much better now. Give your wife a big hug for helping you. I know she must be so proud of you. Just think how much longer you will live now as compared to before.

how awesome  Good for you...
