This may be too soon or maybe already started but I got my date for December 2nd and thought us December Bandsters should start to follow each other. Any takers? How's the preop appointments going? the preop diet? Any news is good news! (except for the fact that I have to quit smoking!!!!) :blushing:

I pureed some chilli for lunch and it was actually really good. I had some lasagna for dinner. I just made sure to chew really well.

K banded on friday- don't remember much. My mom came and got me and took care of me for the last 2 days... I strictly stayed on the 48hr post op diet. Today I had yogurt. Then I got daring and had a couple of pinches from a piece of pumpkin bread, then 2 deviled eggs, then a teaspoon of all of the following: mashed potato, stuffing, green bean casserole, jello salad, and a bite of turkey.

Yes it was "turkmas" at my house... and I ate basically a bite or two of everything with no issues. I intend onn having pumpkin pie later too..

The surgery was quick and annoying (the nursing staff and anantheisiologist) and I don't remember friday, yesterday was sore and gassy. Today was less sore, more gassy. But I woke up hungry and wanting to eat, not a lot, just eat something of substance. So far so good. I know I know post op diet.. you do you, I'll do me

:smile2:Good Luck to all that are getting banded this week.

May the surgeons blade cut straight and may the band not be to tight!!

May the pain be low & the recovery fast!!

 I guess the Dr's don't work on Christmas day.

Well I'm banded. I had my surgery on Friday at 7:30 am. I spent Friday night in the hospital due to the repair of a hiatal hernia. I am so glad that I stayed though, IV morphine is a wonderful thing.

Came home yesterday and still feel sore, but the gas pain is so much better (don't remember this much with my lap gall bladder surgery in July). I thought I was having a heart attack on Friday afternoon.

I am so lucky to have my wonderful husband taking care of me, he makes sure that I get my meds on time and is making me great food (if you can call turkey broth food).

I am glad that I took the time to make homemade turkey carcass broth before my surgery date. The broth in the hospital tasted like it had been wrung out of a dirty dish rag.

Hope everyone is doing well and good luck to those still waiting.

Okay, everyone. This is it-I'm off to be banded in just a couple short hours! Good luck to my fellow December 21 bandsters, and I'll check in with everyone when I get home tomorrow evening!

Good Luck Abby! Good Luck to all being banded this week!!!!!

I am 10 days post-op and feel great. Each day gets better.

Well less than 24 hours to go before I'm banded. This time tomorrow I'll be in recovery. I've been told that if I can drink water with no issues and my x-rays of the band placement come out ok, I'll be released around noonish tomorrow. I'm so excited.

Ps. Best news - I've lost 20 pounds already

Way to go Duece!!!!!!!!

Good Luck!

Good Luck to ya Deuce! You'll be amazed at how fast you get back to feeling good. Pulling up another belt notch is pretty good too.

2 days post op. Gas pains are worse for me than the incision pain. I had a hard time the first day as the anethesia did not agree with me. I couldnt get up and walk as much as I needed to due to nausea. Luckily the nausea has passed. Yes, I'm sore, yes, I have gas but this too shall pass. (no pun intended)

Ugh. Today is day 1 of the 'full liquids' diet and I'm starving! Not to mention tired and grouchy! How in the world did everyone make it through this??? Remind me of the goal b/c right now this hunger headache is kicking my tail! *sips V8*

Well we made it up to my mom-in-law's in Chicago & I just got the confirm call from the hospital to be there at 5am tomorrow so it's on like popcorn! (man I would hurt someone for some popcorn right now...lol!) Good luck 12/22s!

Cawells, you will be doing great in no time and loved the pun. You hit it right - the incision pain was inconsequential compared to the other discomforts. My gas pain seemed to go right into my left shoulder. My whimpering paid off as I got my wife to give some great shoulder massages. We are holding your cyber hand in support. The first 4 days kicked my shrinking butt worse than I expected and then day 5 brought amazing relief. Walking was tough but seemed to help. Time helped most of all.

Two days...on Weds, I will be banded. Wow.

Hard to believe, excited and nervous at the same time.

Got some Isopure to get me thru the "clear" days and some chocolate protein shakes for the liquid days.

Need to get some SF jello and popsicles and broth.

Debating whether to measure myself or not. Hard to imagine doing, but I am sure I will want to know how many inches lost also.

Good luck to all.
