I'm feeling the same way poppyred. I just took some more hydrocodone. The pain is more around the belly button area. I had a single incision and I'm thinking maybe that is around where the doctor put the port. I can't bend because it feels like a log is in there. Other then that pain and still swollen I feel good. I have more energy. And I'm dropping weight. I go to my doctor next tuesday I will let you know what he says.

Wow thanks for writing ..my pain is upper stomach...not a thing around my belly button strange...Keep me posted on your lost..Im curious..how all is doing..

Take care..

Hi Everyone,

I have been following this forum for a few months, there is so much useful information I am thankful I have found you all. My surgery date is Dec 30.... and I started my two week diet today, so far so good.

Hi MelissaO,

Welcome to the club. I started my pre-op diet Sunday just because I didn't think I would do very good. I have to admit it hasn't been easy.

I tried Chike high Protein Shakes which were very good. You can get 5 packs of different flavors for FREE! All you pay is $6.95 S&H so not totally free. They were good.

Good luck to all!!

Hey Everyone! Good luck to everyone close to surgery! It's REALLY not that bad! I'm one week post-op and I'm into the mushies stage. I had some cottage cheese yesterday and some Soup today and some Pasta for dinner. It's not too bad, but, I'm still trying to re-train my brain on portion sizes, is anyone else having the same issue? That and I've over-eaten a little and while I'm not in a LOT of pain, I do hurt a little. I still have a big bruise and some pain where the port site is, but, nothing too bad. I have my first fill in 5 weeks. I can't wait!

So okay... 12 hours to go.. cant wait...I have lost 16 pounds on my 2 week liquid.. I did have a little relapse one day and felt like I had to eat everything in site. But my boys have been keeping me honest...

Tomorrow is the day ... hopefully all goes well. my hr came in yesterday and said that if I couldnt go back to work with out restriction that I would have to take the 6 weeks as short term... I told them over a month ago and they just spring this on me... It made me want to pack my things and leave.

Thank god my company has a good plan. I called yesterday and I'm all approved. Granted its not the same pay but 60% will still pay the bills... :)

Best wishes to all.

It's 5:50 AM here. I'm getting my daughter ready for school, sending her to the neighbor's, and then I'm heading to the hospital. I have to be there at 7. I'm surprisingly calm this morning. Good luck to all of you Dec 18 bandsters and to the rest of you who are nearing surgery.

I admit, I cheated a tad during my 2 week pre-op diet too. I would have a bite of something every 3 or 4 days. Shoot last night I had a small bowl of chilli as my last meal before being banded.

That 2 week diet can be a killer. I think you would go crazy if you didn't reward yourself with at least a taste every now and again.

Well that makes me feel a little better. Hope ur surgery went well.

Good luck to all today.

Well it's day four of the liquid diet and I've already lost 10 pounds. - I'm hoping to hit 20 by my surgery date at this rate i should hit 20 pounds lost pre surgery. I've been good and not cheated a bit. I figure i'm paying for this and that i want it bad enough I can struggle for a few weeks. i didn't get fat overnight so it takes work. I'm so ready to be banded I can't wait.

Irishbookworm, I am one week post op as well. I was so glad to be able to eat mushies this week, I opted for mashed potatoes. Portion Control is huge, I felt like because there was still food in the bowl I should eat but my stomach was actually tight. Too afraid of barfing, so I stopped. I am now obsessed that the swelling has gone down and I can "feel" the port. My first fill is also in 5 weeks.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
