Sugery yesturday10/6 in pain!!

Hello all this is my first post i was banded yesturday in the am . I am feeling a lot of pain in my stomach . my surgeon tells my he also repaird a sizable hernia . I am so sour in my stomach i slept around 2 hours if that last night . i was having a really bad back pain probably gas. My electric blanket has helped with that pain. but my stomach is so sour i cant lay down at all without a lot of pain. The only medication for pain i was prescribed was 125mg tylenol with 12mg of codine. but i dont think this is enough. any thoughts out there... thanks

congratulation on your band, I was banded August 19, 2009. After surgery I was in pain too. I couldn't lay down either. What I would do is prop up all the pillows behind me and sleep that way. I couldn't lay down on my back for at-least 4days. I also had a lot of stomach gas. the Tylenol with codeine worked, but it always put me to sleep, within 3days I stopped taking it. I didn't want to sleep all the time.

I understand what you are going through. I was banded 3 weeks ago....oh how I can relate to your pain. I found it much easier to sleep in the recliner the first week. I still have some discomfort in the bed in certain positions. Every day gets easier so hang in there! My doc gave me liquid Loritab and it really helped me rest at night.

Well at day 5 i can sleep for short periods of time propped up by pillows on bed . I have taken a few small walks most of the pain is soreness and gas but gets better with time tried to have a shake today only got 25% down before it was uncomfortable. will try to eat more later. appreciate all the encouragement.

I was banded on Oct 5 and also had a hernia repair, and waking up after surgery was the worst. I am 5 days out and walking in the morning has help me make it through the day. after the my whole first day out i stopped taking the medication,I just felt more in control without it if that makes sense.today I feel real good.congrats to you!

Hey everyone,

I was banded on the 6th of October, and my first night of pain was hell! Really uncomfortable. Everyone is different. A friend of mine said she had no pain, so i was kinda worried mine was soimething serious, but it has been 5 days since my surgery and it has eased off a lot. I am on my liquid diet and in 5 days have lost 8lbs. Well chuffed! The only discomfort i feel now is just at my port scar. Cant really explain it. Feels strange, but not painful. Once everything has healed, will i still feel this feeling? Hope not.
