One step closer!! =)

I got my appt for my TSH Blood Test that my insurance requires before submission. And Im gonna get my Referral for my Upper GI series. I was hoping to get the referral ASAP. Grr, but better then nothing.

I hope I can get banded at the beginning of Nov. I would hate to be on liquids for Thanksgiving. I at least want to enjoy a few oz of mash potatos. lol.

can anyone tell me how long they waited for approval after your doc submitted your TSH results?

Hi corinne. Making your way through all the red tape certainly sucks, and being on the pre-op diet during Thanksgiving would really suck. But both things are *still* better than being miserable with your weight and not being able to affect it much. Being banded is totally worth (IMO) all the bullcrap we have to go through to get it. Hang in there!

I luckly dont have to do a pre-op diet. I am worried I will be newly post-op at thankgsiving. I have a lot of travel in Dec so I cant get it done then. I am really really crossing my fingers for beginning of Nov, but now that my TSH appt is mid oct & I am still trying to get a referral for my Upper GI Series, i am sure that isnt happening. So trying not to have a hissy fit. lol.

My doctors office submitted on a Tuesday, and I heard 9 days later that I was approved.

Good luck! This is going to change all of our lives for the better!:)

WOW thats awesome! I hope to be so lucky with mine =) thx.

Approval depends on your insurance, if you are going that route. When I started I was told that my insurance required a 6 month pre op weight management period. I was told this by my doctors office, I called my insurance to find out about it and was told that my policy did not require it. From my first doctors appt. to surgery was about 5 weeks. Good luck and try not to let the wait stress you out, your time will be here before you know it.
