  1. I'm 5 months post op and have FINALLY to made it to ONEderland! I am so so so excited! My wedding is in 4 months. I have reached one of my medium sized goals. =)
  2. I spoke with my surgeon and my PCP, they both told me that the LONG heavy period is an effect of the blood thinners they give us during and after surgery. Also the untimeliness of it arriving is from a combo of anesthesia and trauma. Mine lasted 12 days. It was heavy and I thought my insides were falling out. Being told you can't have advil was a deal breaker for me after a certain point. I went and saw my surgeon and he told me I COULD take IBprofen but in I would have to take it in liquid form or in very coated an make sure I drink a lot with the pill form so it would not stay in stoma where it can cause issues. He said taking IBprofen is ok for once in a while like for cramps. I also found that taking Evening Primrose Oil helped regulate my hormones after the surgery. Especially since I had gone off Birth Control 3 months prior so this was my 1st REAL period in a LONG time.
  3. I woke up today and have been BEAMING sicen I got off the scale. I am offically 20 lbs down and retired some of my baggy shirts this morning when dressing. They went straight into the donation bag. Looking to be a good Week!

    January 2010 bandsters...

I am 8 weeks post op and down 18 lbs, 3 BMI points and yestrday got my 2nd fill. I am now at 3.5 cc's. I had my 1st PB last night. So I guess that is what restriction feels like. lol. My fiance thought it was hilarious that I was excited about PBing my chicken up. I was excited because I have never felt the restriction before. I was a ALRIGHT FINALLY moment. I felt the sliming and wner to restroom and came out a min later going ok. I am done for the night. lol. Tossed the rest of my dinner. I know know what my new full feeling is like. So I dont repeat... Hopefully!

  8. GOOD LUCK TODAY!!!! Remember, WALK WALK WALK WALK!!!!!

  9. Ladies are you with me? I am boycotting the scale this week. TOM is visiting and I don't want to go mental and not see a loss. Anyone else do this?
  10. Yep! Getting married on Oct 30th in CA on the beach. So I have some MOTIVATION. lol. And another Yep to my fiance trainer. He is activly looking for more clients if you are interested. He is going tothe next group meeting if you want to meet or pick his brain. Where do you workout? If you are serious about a trainer Aaron is pretty acquainted with the limitations of the band and band friendly excercises. Here is his email if you wanted to ask questions, ect... aaron@aaronkueper.com

He is starting me on a new pool workout next week with a free pass to his hotel gym with an indoor pool. hehe.

  11. it was good meeting you in person last night. Keep up the good work!

  12. Group went fine. There were a few people from this site there that i got to meet for the 1st time. The next meeting in March we are gonna have a guest speaker who is a life coach. so that should be interesting. I am doing fine. down 3 BMI points so I am thrilled. =) So you get a surgery date yet?

    BIG dilemma - HELP!!

I think I got lucky with my work/friends. I told my Boss I would be out for 1 week for surgery. He never asked about what for. He had surgery last year, so he is sensitive to the matter. My surgery date was 1/5/10 and coincidentally I got engaged on 12/24/09, so everyone is assuming I am on a wedding diet. lol. its actually kept people asking me. Wow how much have you lost this week? Nothing is more motivating then a white dress. HA HA.
  16. I live 5 min from the Ditmars NW stop so the closest gym to me is THE ROCK. My Fiance works out at the gym and pool at the Sheraton Hotel near Rock Center. Its pretty nice and EMPTY. I might join that @ 89 a month. idea of an indoor pool makes me not mind the extra bill. lol

  17. WOW her kids are on a gluten free, lacto-free, vegetarian diet? Wow, I would consider that child neglect in some form. Malnution is so easy with adults... Kids I am sure can be stunted in their development with such a diet. Maybe your friend needs an damn intervention! You sound sane to me =).

    BIG dilemma - HELP!!

In the US you dont have to disclose what surgury you are going in for. It is actually illegal to ask you. If you want to tell them something youc an tell them you have hernia surgery. Most of us had a hernia repair during WLS so it wouldnt really be a lie. Also if they are requiring a DR note you can ask your discharge nurse for a filled out form stating how long hospital stay and how long the doc wants you resting at home. You tell them it is for work and they will make it vague, since of doc patient confidentiality. GOOD LUCK!
  19. Hey i see you live in Astoria. So do I. What Gym do you use?

  20. Oh thanks for the advice! I met Johanna during my 1st post op visit. I actually got Dr. Roslin for my 1st fill, which he did quickly and I was suprised practically painless. I have my next appt for 3/10. I will def try to sched with Johanna on my 3rd if i can get an earlier appt. Thanks. Will you be going to the group meeting on Thurs?

  21. its about 1 inch to the right of my belly button. Nope. Only thing that pinched was when he was actually removing the needle out of me. I sneezed. So I caused that ouchy. LOL
  22. I am officially 1 month post opt. I happen to also have my 1st fill today. I got 2cc's this morning and I feel fine. I have no issues so far. I was told to do 2 liquid meals today and then a mushy to normal meal. lots of Water. I was so suprised... The fill hurt less then a flu shot. lol. It was trippy to feel the cold saline slowly moving up my tube. then my tummy got cold. LOL. I am 13 pounds down in 1 month. As of right now... I LOVE MY BAND!!!!!!!!!
  23. Was there by 9:05, seen @ 9:28, outta there by 9:45. Fill took less then a min. Actually hurt less then a flu shot. lol. I'm at work sipping on a shake. Roslin gave me 2cc's and told me to do two liquid meals today and my normal dinner. YAY!

  24. Yes their gabbing is annoying. lol

I have my first fill at 9:15 tomorrow morning. I am hoping to get out of their by 10:30. I live in Astoria and work in Hoboken. Wish me luck! lol

  25. Yeah I agree with the offices CS skills. I got there at 10am for my 1st surgical consult and waited for 1.5 hours until somebody was like oh, did somebody tell you Dr. Roslin is running late? He showed at 11:45. I was pissed. then saw him for like only 10 min. I was STARVING!!!!!!!!!!! Will you go to the next Group meeting? If so, see you there!
