Does Anyone Have a Partner or Spouse That Likes Them "Thick," "Heavy," or "Chubby?"

Recommended Posts

Man, oh Man...this is the conversation for me!

My honey doesn't even know I got banded last week and I don't plan on telling him until I absolutely have to. When we got together I was around 220 or so...well 4 years later I get pregnant with our now 9 month old daughter and I'm at 288. This is the heaviest I've ever been and I AM NOT FEELING IT AT ALL!! However, daddy loves all my junk:tt1:

I think once he can see how much more happier I am and the stunts I can pull when I'm thinner he won't even care. Now I have to admit, I like myself thick as well-my frame ir curvy and is meant to carry some extra weight, just not this much. I'm looking to get down to about 180 or so.

:) Okay I have to ask... How did you get banded without your honey knowing? I cannot figure this one out???LOL:w00t:

I have been married for twenty years and weigh less now than I did on my wedding day. My husband loves that fact that I have lost weight and I am getting healthy. He has been so supportive and makes comments about how great I am looking. We have been through such tough times together and it seems that we just get stronger as time goes on. He has put up with all my dieting and yo-yo sh-t. He was concerned at first but really wanted me to do it for me. And yeah, one of the things we both hated most was losing the boob weight. But on the up side it has lifted them a little which has been nice. Mine were starting to sag bigtime and really weren't attractive in that way. I'm 51 so the girls were really starting to hang. I went from a 46D to a 38C which is a big difference. It has actually helped my shape. But on the subject, my husband loves me to be happy and loves me for whatever I am at the time better or worse. Just happens to be better right now.

When I met my husband - I was always afraid that he wouldn't like me because I was overweight...however, he told me once upon a time that if he can hug me and he in turn hugs himself because I'm so thin that something is wrong...BUT four years later of wonderful marriage...I told him I was unhappy with my weight...he loves me for me and he wants me to be happy. In October of this year I told him I was going to get LAP-BAND surgery no matter what he thought..lol He was happy for me and even though I told him I may get "skinny" he didn't care. He said, "I am in love with you. No matter how small you get, you will always be my wife!"

I am now banded as of December 7th, and couldn't be happier. We're both happy. :)

I am in the same situation.

My Husband was very supportive, but when i started loosing weight, he said when he cuddles me at night i just dont feel the same anymore and he feels her is with someone else and it doesnt feel right.

I asked him what can i do to help him, but he said that he will get used to it in time.

About a month has gone by now and he isnt complaining about it anymore so he must be getting used to it.

Im also trying not too loose too fast to give him time to adjust to each stage.

All in all it is all well and i am loosing pretty consistently which is good.

Good luck everyone and i hope that it will sort itself out.

:-) XXXXXX

My husband loved me when I was 150 lbs and when I was 255 and I know would have loved me if I was 300, however, I think this also has to do with his insecurities. He does not fear that someone is going to take me away from him when I am heavy because I dont go out, dont want to be seen and avoid social situations as much as possible. His first wife cheated on him so that is where the insecurity comes from, but I can not tell you how many times just before the surgery, day of and every day after he said "now you are going to be thin and you are going to leave me". I dont know how to convince him otherwise. I try to show him everyday that I am in this with him for life. What can I do?

My husband isnt supportive of the band at all!!! He is okay that I have it but when I want to gripe about it or have an ache or pain, he is not the one to go to.

When I met him I weighed 120! Over our 8 year relationship we have two awesome children and both have gained lots of weight! Me up to 211! Him, I dont know and I dont care. But the other day he told me he loved me just the way I was, I was his best friend and he didnt care what I looked like. I try to explain the heath reasons etc... he doesnt care, he just always says "I told you not to do it, I love you how ever you are" makes me feel good. But I want him to be on board with this!

I feel the same way as most of you ladies. I had a friend who got the by-pass surgery and when she lost all the weight she went WILD!!! She had been married over 10 yrs and she started going out more w the girls and ended up cheating on her husband, doing drugs and drinking more. She had always been heavy and now she was making up for lost times. I'm in my late 30's and I've only been married for about 4 yrs. He only knows me being fluffy, but he has seen my skinny pics and he seems to drool on them. But, I try not to worry about it too much- I'm doing this for me and my health. I love him and I know I want to spend the rest of my life with him, but I know if me losing weight effects our relationship negatively there is not much I can do about it because I'm not going to stay fluffy just to please a man. I want a man to love me for me, not what I look like and it seems that is what type of man I have now. But you never know until the time comes when I am thin.

when i married my second husband i was 220 but have put on about 30 lbs in 4 years. Now let me give you a lil back ground on my husband. He was married 21 years before me to a lady that was 320 and she had gastric bypass..well of course she was confident in her looks and believed the grass was greener on the other side. Well while he was in Iraq she moved her boyfriend in. So when he got home..instead of a welcome home party ..he was looking for a place to live! well now he is extremely worried the same thing will happen to us. I have assured him that this will NOT happen. I have no desire to check out someone elses yard! Not only is this new for me..it's opening old wounds for him.

Now the doc told me i should get down to 140 to be in my target bmi range. My husband said that is too skinny for his liking!! lol Funny thing is that his 'fantasy woman' , Salma Hyeck, is smaller than that and he thinks she's beautiful...why wouldn't he want me like that? Well granted i don't have the hoots..lol

anyway I thought this was a cute thread and wanted to share.

I, too did not tell my husband I got the band. I had it done during spring break and my parents took me and I went home with them for the day of surgery and 2 days after it.

My husband definitely likes thicker women, Queen Latifah is his ultimate woman (even before she lost weight). LOL

My husband and I were rocky before the band (married 3.5 years) and will not stay together. We were talking divorce before the band. He has asked me how much weight I have lost, but that's it.

When my husband and I started dating (which I was 15 and not big) he was fine with it but now im 25 and 100lbs bigger!! He is still fine with it!!

Don’t get me wrong he loves my curves!! He says he'll miss them but he knows I’ll be healthier and be happier with myself!

There is definitely a segement of the population into overweight women, other wise fat porn would not exist. I found my first husband's collection of the stuff when I was thin and fit..what a mind screw that was! For most of my young adult hood I'd been betting the message that if I just lost 10 more lbs I'd be perfect and then here comes this man who when confronted said if I'd just gain 100 more lbs I'd be perfect! Unfortunately our marriage did not withstand his desire to be with an obese woman. The porn and his infidelities eventually took their toll. I never did understand it. I can understand a little cushion for the pushin but what he wanted was in my eyes disturbing.

2nd hubby met me when I was 140 and almost put it in a pre-nup that I could not get fat. Well..here I am..FAT and you can imagine how well that has gone over. He is happy that I am losing but it couldn't happen soon enough for him. He also sees this tool as some kind of failure because I wasn't able to run the weight off like I had in years past (I have severe arthritis in my knees & ankles).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
