I just got a text from Tracy. She asked me to post for her.

"I am in the hospital for observation due to chest pains. So far so good. Post for me please".

As soon as I hear something else I will post it also. Keep her and the family in your prayers.

WOW, nobody was home today???

I know I was busy all day. Worked than took Sis to her Docs. Grocery store, took Sis home. Came home for an hour. Took Sis to the Docs and then home. Went back to work.

We have had storms all evening. Lots of lightning, pretty but scary.

I told hubby if I'm up in the morning I will go to the gym with him. We'll just have to see. My butt is really hurting and the hip is too. Seems like the only time I get relief is when I workout. If I go I will ride the bike for a couple of hours and do upper body strength training.

Kat and Terri, did you guys get a chance to meet up? I hope so and that you guys had a great time.

Hi everyone.

We did! Kat was so nice and it was great to talk to someone face to face that has the band. Since you all have been friends here I wish everyone could meet her in person also.

I feel certain now that this is the right choice for me at this time. And I'm going to talk to DH about self pay. He is out of town tonight so I'm going to make a pro/con list for insurance / self pay.

Suzie I hope the bad weather passes quickly. It has been wicked lately.

Angela, sorry to hear someone dropped the ball. But I feel that things do happen for a reason so as annoying as it is that someone didn't do their job correctly maybe it is best he have it done after summer school. My prayers are with you all.

My prayers are definitely with Tracy.

Terri

Boy I Hope Tracy is ok! My brother in law, Becky and I have a "fake heart attack" club. We have all had issues with chest pain, and it been other things!

Hope Tracy joins our ranks. Worries me.

Terri and I did meet up, and had a great time! She will fit right in our little group here! I look forward to many more meet ups with her!

Got our clothes washed, and set aside, need to go to the shed and get the suitcase tomorrow. Then pack all the other things we want. Rick said tonight, he thinks we will extend our time in SA, there are a couple of other things he wants to see. I am all for it!

Drama going on with my DH's ex---she has a death wish I think, because she has now gotten on my last nerve! She needs to find a psych ward she likes and move in permanently! Aarrgghh! Witch!

Will be back to see if there is word on Tracy---maybe it come in while I was posting!

Prayers and hugs for Tracy! Sure hope all is well!

~~~~~
We took DD fishing for the first time today. Well, they fished. I sat on my butt in the shade and read my book! :tongue2:
Almost caught a couple of fish, actually had one of them on DH;s hook but he wanted to hand DD the pole so she could "catch" the fish and it got off the hook. Damn fish!
She thinks we need to go again in the AM so we can fish again and catch some this time! LOL!! We are both wondering what she'll do if they actually catch one!
SHE thinks we're eating it! We'll see after she actually catches one. Bloodthirsty little thing! LOL!
Just got up a little while ago and no word from Tracy. Hopefully she is home sleeping.< /span>
Michelle, that reminds me of a trip we took when I was about 9 years old. On that trip I did a lot of fishing and I was pulling them in like crazy. However, I will not touch fish so someone had to be close by to take them off the hook. We did take them all home and my grandma cooked them all up. We stopped in New Mexico on our way home to visit some relatives and they took me fishing in a river. I caught trout like there was no tomorrow. Later that night they cooked it up for me to eat. I'll fish, just don't ask me to bait the hook or remve fish from the hook. LOL.
Not much to do today. Later is our shift at the hospital. I'll probably do a few things around the house here till then.
Make it a good one.
Just lost my post!!!! How do I keep doing that? LOL...oh well. Here I go again......
Tracy, thoughts and prayers your way. I hope you are home resting by now too. I am just a few miles down the road so if you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to let me know. k? I will PM you my cell number.
Kat, got your PM...thanks! Enjoy your trip. That sounds like so much fun!
Terri, I am so glad you guys got the chance to meet up. Kat is one of the reasons I found this group. I liked her take on the band and I enjoyed reading her advise to others.
I can't wait for you to become and official bandster! I am a work in progress, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
Suzie, how are you feeling? Are you getting lots of pool time (read: ME time) in?
Michelle, too cute about your daughter! Fishing is fun! Are you guys pond fishing?
Cindy, how is summer school going? Zach started today. He has a really good attitude about the whole thing and that makes momma happy!!
Bethany....oh Bethany??!!
Man! I woke up broke out like a teenager. I am not sure what is going on...hormones for sure. That could explain my crazy moods lately. I told my hubby that I haven't felt like myself in a while. I think I am on the other side though! I woke up in a great mood and I am ready for whatever today brings.
I hope you all have a great day.
Tracy...check in when you can, girl!
On my way out to get some things done, but was hoping for word about Tracy. I hate to call her if she is feeling bad.....
Angela, have you dropped more weight suddenly? That can cause skin breakouts and mood swings. The estrogen dump into your system can wreak havoc. Just yesterday Terri and I were talking about it! Thanks for the kind words. I try not to make the band sound perfect, but real, and also let people know they can live normal lives with it!
We had an Uncle growing up who had a pond. Dad would take my brother and I fishing occasionally---he was afraid to take us most of the time, that he would have to fish one of us out of the Water, the way we fought!! But we would keep him busy baiting and unhooking fish! First one of us then the other, he seldom got a line in the Water.< /strong>
Cindy---are your summer kids settled in and ready to impress??
Suzie, enjoy your day...I am going after a few grocery items. Bottled water tea etc. We do not drink the well water there. If you are there long term, it clears up pretty good, but using it as intermittantly as we do, it is pretty bad!!! We shower and wash in it, but not cook or drink. Also need to get my nails polished today, they look pretty rough---the garden is hard on them!
Have a man coming to replace my windshield in the van today. But I don't have to be home for it---not a big deal, he is someone Rick does business with at work all the time.
Got my Avon delivered a few minutes ago, which is good, I have new goodies to take with me!!
Not sure if I told ya'll or not, but the PET scan showed the tumor of my MIL's to be cancerous (not sure how, and they never answered my ????) but they now think it is removable surgically. They said it is only stage 1, and with removal she will not need followup treatment. I question the Dx, but that is how I am!!! LOL
Gonna run and do my stuff. Will check back in as soon as I get back for word on Tracy.
OMG still in the hospital! That is scary enough!!! My fake heart attack, I went home from ER!!! Not meaning to make like her situation is funny, was hoping she was having the same problem.
Tell her we are all thinking of her!!!! Not liking it when my "home" girls have problems!
Went got my shopping done, windshield was done while I was gone, looks great!!! Painted my nails, now sitting here eating a Silver Fox shaved ice---soooooo good!!!
Will check back in awhile---hugs!!
Finally took DD to the doc today. She's had this cough for bout 2 weeks but there is so much gunk in the air that BOTH of us are full of snot and sneezing like mad so chalked up the cough to that. Well, in the last couple of days it's changed a little and I found out we've got Whooping Cough going around so figured I'd get her in. Doc said it could be a little bit of a sinus infection and the drainage is making her cough OR she has WC. They tested her and we'll get the results in a day or so but they started her on antibiotics anyway. Doc says SOMETHING is going on and so she needs them, WC or not.
Finally got to the nursery and bought a few veggies for the garden. Tomatoes, butternut squash (never grown before), strawberries, eggplant and a melon that i've never heard of or grown before! Should be fun!
Have a great day!
Omg, I am sending more prayers for Tracy. It is actually a good thing that they are keeping her and making sure she is ok. I think sometimes they send women home too soon from the ER.
Kat, it sounds like they are catching your MILs problem early. I will pray for her.
Angela, Zach sounds like he is being really positive and that is the most important part of doing well in summer school. It sounds like he will be fine.
Arrived at summer school today to see the custodian carrying off a rather large Water moccasin. It was trying to get into the teacher's lounge. Hasn't this snake realized that the teacher's lounge isn't really all that exciting?! Then, I entered the cafeteria and it was REALLY hot. Well, I thought maybe there was a glitch overnight. NAH, that wasn't it. It seems the freaking air is BROKEN!!! So, when we entered the cafeteria, that they baked and cooked in without air, you can imagine how hot is was. OMG, it was 97 outside with a heat index of 106! I felt so bad for the cafeteria workers, because I was miserable sitting there for 20 minutes trying to eat with the kids. Oh, and what did I bring for lunch? ! Soup! Freaking Soup, in this heat. I am such a moron!:thumbup: Ok, through with my rant.
Hey!! Sorry to be gone for so long......my computer hard drive died Mother's Day weekend and long story short -- it took 3 weeks to get it back. And I am still working on getting everything back to where it was before the crash.
Gia has been causing quite a ruckus for the last month, but has been much better the last few days. Maybe our little chat Saturday night worked. I sat her down and said that I was fed up to here with her crap and if she didn't straighten up she was going to go to the group home. (For those of you who are new, Gia is a 12 foster child who has been in my home for 3 months) Up until she came to my house she has always gotten her way and had no rules. When she doesn't get her way she is defiant and mute for as long as she deems necessary.
She is being passed on to 6th grade even though she didn't pass any of her End of Grade tests. From what I understand, it is solely due to her IEP. School is out tomorrow, but the homework will not end. She really needs to concentrate on her handwriting, math and reading. Isn't that everything??
Gia's kitten that poops everywhere now has a cage, purchased by the same benefactor that paid for the kitten. So now I can actually clean everywhere and maybe it won't get nasty again. She is a very sweet kitten, just thinks the whole house is her litter box. The newest members of this house are quite a pair!!
I am off to do some laundry.
Hope Tracy is ok. Suzanne - take care of yourself!! Michelle, glad you are mending.
Hello just popping in for a min.
Prayers for Tracy.
Kat...The PET scan tells the difference because cancer acts like a magnet for the radioactive crap that they shoot into you an hr. before the scan. That is the way it was explained to me. Except for the word "crap" :thumbup:. Anyway if it is non cancerous it won't stick to it and make it glow.
Suzanne...You are doing a good job with Gia. She is soon to be a teen and at this stage on they know everything. Stand strong and don't let her see you sweat.
      Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️
        I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.
        That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!
    • BeanitoDiego
      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.
      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.
      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
