Hi there,

Your story is so similar to mine. I had my first child last December too and have considered WLS for awhile. I am going to be banded on November 25th. I look forward to hearing how it goes for you.

Hi all! My date is Nov 12th! I'm starting the pre-op diet on Monday so enjoying my last few treats now, especially since my birthday is just 4 days before my surgery! Had my cake and ice cream today since I won't be eating that for a while! lol So excited!

Just started cleaning out my kitchen. Which is easy since I live alone. I didn't waste much since I haven't gone shopping for a while. Was guilty of living off take out. But, I cleaned out the fridge completely and my cupboard. Its a shame that I'm already tired and need to take a break. Exactly why I need to get this weight off. Gonna clean my apartment from top to bottom this weekend and get rid of clutter. Emotionally, I need this. Day 6 of the pre op diet and still going strong!

LOL I have cleaned out some stuff too... have to be careful since I have 3 others at home who are not having weight issues ;o) challenging!

Hey there November Knockouts!!! I am here to join you!!! I have been jumping through hoops with my insurance and have just decided to say the heck with it and do self pay! I've spent too many years of my life overweight and I'm not going to waste anymore time fighting with my insurance, besides whats a little more debt on the huge mountain I allready have!!!! Anyway I have a surgery date of November 19 in Colorado with Dr. Kirshenbaum and I am sooooo excited! Not looking forward to the flights as most of us overweight people dont. But I'm thinking of this as the last time flying fat!!!!! Good luck to everyone!!!!

Just made something yummy with my limited pre op food options. Besides the Protein Shakes I can have two cups of non starchy veggies and broth. So I used 1 trader joes concentrated chicken broth packet, 1 cup Water and warmed it in a pan. Added 1 cup of frozen artichoke hearts, a little pepper . Cooked until hearts were tender. Yummy! Can add more water and another packet of broth if you like the Soup part.

I just bought the Montel Williams food emulsifier any one else? You can cream and make vegetable Soups that come out hot right from the blender. I thought this would be good to use post op for full liquid and mushy stages. And later to get more vegetables in. Should we not make fruit smoothies I keep hearing no homemade smoothies.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
