1st Post op review cancelled and I dont want to put the weight back on!!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone! How is everyone getting on? I just found out that my 1st appointment with doc since op is being delayed until end of this month, which is 4 weeks later than it should of been!! I just know I will put any weight lost back on by then. I was so looking forward to this appointment and having the opportunity to ask directly some questions etc. Just starting solids. Any advice and tips on eating/recipes/food quantities etc would be much appreciated. I so dont want to put weight back on in the meantime. Hope everyone is doing good. :-)

Once you get on solids you should not have trouble just measure what you eat and drink a lot of Water. I only have one small fill and I am 7 weeks post op. You will lose. It is just on the mushies you seem to not loose because I don't think it stays in the pouch as long as solids.

Thanks for quick reply! Just not sure if I am eating too much. Today I had

BF : Scrambled egg (2 eggs, little milk, 2tsps sour cream, brown sauce)

Lunch: 2 L/F Crackers, 4 tbsps canned tuna, sour cream, humous

Dinner: 6 tbsps shepherds pie & mushy peas

Evening Snack: 2 L/f Cream crackers with humous

Drank Water throughout day

2 coffees Decaf

1 skinny hot choco

Is that a lot...sounds alot. I have no problems eating any of it or keeping it down. Just may not be little enough for weight loss

That does not sound like too much to me. I eat chicken salad most of the time and sometimes eggs. I like easy stuff. But now that you are off of the mushies you should lose weight easier even without a fill.

I am doing good. I am down 22 lbs since surgery and have had no problems at all. I have only had one fill but look to have another one soon. I do love my band and look forward to the future.

If you stick to your post-op meal plan that you, your doctor and dietician set for you and you continue to exercise (which is MOST important) you WILL lose weight and the appointment will be just a formality....

Keep your chin up and measure your foods, remember to drink or eat enough Protein and you will be on the road to a better recovery- The people here are wonderful and are very open about their experiences etc.. Feel free to ask anyone anything! Good luck!

Hi I cant exercise yet although I do walk and I am very mobile. Just not ready for the gym. Couple more weeks and you wont get me out of there:smile: Thanks for the advise. This site is certainly a blessing and more importantly the people are great. Thanks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
