Hi. My name is Lisa. I'm 49 and I hae 4 children. 1- son 17 is getting ready to go to Marine boot camp. 1- son- 15, in 10th grade and swims Varsity for his high school. 1- daughter- 14- homeschooled. 1- daughter -adopted- 4 special needs. She keeps us all young and jumping.

We live just outside San Antonio Texas. I just became banded on Aug. 11, 2009. I have lost over 15 so far and need to loose about 100+.

Thank you.

Hi Lisa- you are doing great- I have been banded for 5+ years and have lost 250 lbs and would be glad to talk with you back door . send your email? I am one of several "angels" who cheer on newly banded patients in my local support group..any current questions or concerns?

My daughter has special needs as well--if you would like to talk let me know. I was banded 1 year ago, and have lost 43lbs.

I would love to keep in touch!

How old is your daughter? Mine will be 5 Nov. 25th. (My husband is from Michigan. Twin Lake, over by Muskegon).

Hi Lisa--

My daughter is an adult now and is married to another wheel chair user. They both work and live in Wash DC. They have 3 foster children. My daughter has been highly educated and really, she runs all of our lives! LOL

What disability does your 5 year old have? You must really have your hands full. I know my wife did when our kids were young. How are you doing with your band? You probably have not had any fills yet. I am doing okay, but have issues with emotional eating still. Take care and best of luck to you. Would like to talk to you more--

Jim

I'm daugther has particle chromosonal deletion 13q. Fairly rare I guess. I suspect others in her biological family also have this, but...

How many kids do you have. It's great for me to know that others have lived through this (the kid thing). LOL

I seem to be doing well with my band. I go Sept. 10th to see if I need a fill. Of course I think I will. The swelling has gone down and I'm able to eat more han a 1/2 c. I do stop when i'm full and eat slow. I really have to think sometimes while I'm eating. You habits you know.

I'm almost 2 weeks out from surgery and I'm not in pain, but my stomach is sensitive. Kind of wierd, but I am felling a bit more energitic and that's good. Janie is a spit fire. She's on the move all the time. She keeps us all busy.

I haven't really lost weight after my surgery yet, but I have lost some inches. So things are still happening.
