Thank you for asking this question. I have been doing this for months. The scale is barely moving put I'm down about 3 sizes. It's goos to know someone else had this issue.

I'm daugther has particle chromosonal deletion 13q. Fairly rare I guess. I suspect others in her biological family also have this, but... How many kids do you have. It's great for me to know that others have lived through this (the kid thing). LOL I seem to be doing well with my band. I go Sept. 10th to see if I need a fill. Of course I think I will. The swelling has gone down and I'm able to eat more han a 1/2 c. I do stop when i'm full and eat slow. I really have to think sometimes while I'm eating. You habits you know. I'm almost 2 weeks out from surgery and I'm not in pain, but my stomach is sensitive. Kind of wierd, but I am felling a bit more energitic and that's good. Janie is a spit fire. She's on the move all the time. She keeps us all busy. I haven't really lost weight after my surgery yet, but I have lost some inches. So things are still happening.

Hi. My name is Lisa. I'm 49 and I hae 4 children. 1- son 17 is getting ready to go to Marine boot camp. 1- son- 15, in 10th grade and swims Varsity for his high school. 1- daughter- 14- homeschooled. 1- daughter -adopted- 4 special needs. She keeps us all young and jumping. We live just outside San Antonio Texas. I just became banded on Aug. 11, 2009. I have lost over 15 so far and need to loose about 100+. Thank you.

Also, did you take measurements. They are hard to see in black and white at 1st, but I have been banded for 8 days. I'm down 16 lbs, but I have lost 1+ inches everywhere except my stomach. There are a # of sites to keep track of all this for you. I use Fitday and really like it. I can keep track of many things on there. My point being, lbs is just one way to measure how you are doing. Stay positive.

I hear you girlfriend. I had my band done 8 days ago and up until the day of surgery i wondered why I couldn't do it myself. But I'm happy I did it and I believe it is going to be a wonderful tool to help me loose the weight and keep it off. For whatever reasons some of us just can't do it by ourselves. Go to the seminar like you have planned. Research and make your decision. It's not for everyone, but it sure is the thing that works for a lot of people. Good luck.

Good question. I have been wondering about and I'm needing to call my Dr. I have some that say " Do mNot cut or crush". I need to know what to do. There are also chewable Vitamins that have Omega 3 in them. They are good. The kind I have are made by Lil critters and I bought them at Wal mart. The nutrionist told me about them.

My surgery is on the 11th also and I will be praying for you. I like to think of being put to sleep as a mini vacation. (I have 4 kids and I'll take any kind of vacation I can get). They will give you something to calm you down before they take you in. They will see that you are anxious and you will tell them. Pray for peace about the procedure and have faith in the dr.,s and nurses. Let me know how it goes. Lisa

Hello August bandsters, What a journey we are about to begin! I'm Lisa. I'm 5'3, and currently weigh 250. My highest weight was 265. I will be banded on Aug. 11th. I live just outside San Antonio, Texas. I'm mom to 4 children. Three teenagers and we adopted our special needs daughter 2 years ago who will be 5 in Nov. I'm so ready to get going. I nearly talked myself out of this last week, but I want my life back to much. Good luck to us all! I can haedly wait until I start hearing how everyone is doing post surgery.
