Linda,

You may have to initially crush or cut your tablets. The fish oil is best left out for the first week, until some of the swelling has subsided.

I have a pill splitter and was able to take the glucosamine cut into 4.

hello

i have the same issue with taking medication because i have diabetic but i asked a pharmacy if i could crush the medication and they said it would be fine. i also take a liquid Vitamin supplement with added Iron which is flavoured so no problems there and i also take a liquid fish oil which you can get from the chemist but i take a high strengh one and only need to take 1.25ml per day so if you do get the liquid one search around for the best one, some that i saw you had to take about 15ml per day, yuck, if you want the name of the liquid fish oil or Vitamins i take i can provide you with this info. my dietician recommended to take these and the brands also:thumbup:

Good question. I have been wondering about and I'm needing to call my Dr. I have some that say " Do mNot cut or crush". I need to know what to do.

There are also chewable Vitamins that have Omega 3 in them. They are good. The kind I have are made by Lil critters and I bought them at Wal mart. The nutrionist told me about them.

I bought a pill crusher at Walmart for $2.00. I crush the pills and sometimes put the powder in a small glass of warm Water. I am 3½ weeks Post Opt and since have turn to just pouring the powder in my mouth and then drinking some Water, then eat a TicTac.

To my good fortune I got a bad bladder infection and my Dr put me on to meds. One twice a day and one 4 times a day (yes 4 times a day). They are capsules so I just open it over my mouth and pour the powder in, drink water eat Tic Tac. I take those also with 4 other pills a day and I hate it. Just be sure to ask the pharmacy if your prescription can be crush. Time release pills and capsules CAN NOT BE CRUSH.

Crushing is not fun but would not keep me from having surgery. It is just a small detail. Now giving up my diet coke that is another story. I miss diet coke!!!! 3 ½ weeks without one

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
