Your 1st goal and reward !!

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, just wanted to see what people's first goal is and how they are planning on rewarding themselves ! I think that having non-food based rewards are very important especially since most of us have hung on to that as a method of comfort our entire lives !!!!

my first goal is actually to go through with the surgery, and my reward is a mother/daughter facial at a day spa one week post-op before my mum goes home.

I expect most of my rewards to be shopping- related :-D

Ditto here. I have already given myself a reward at my 30 lbs goal. I bought a handbag. I really nice one. It is kind of a birthday goal bag rolled into one because I didn't want to feel too guilty about it. My next mini goal is on Sept. 4th when I go on a plane to visit my mother. I want to be in onederland! I have 10 lbs to go and I am not sure I am going to make it but I am going to give it my best shot. At least I know the seat belt will fit!

my first goal is to get under 200lbs, and my reward is the Wii Active game to compliment my Wii Fit game. The other reward is an increased libido.

I agree with Miss K that most of my rewards will be shopping related. However today I'm doing a mani/pedi to reward myself for great progress so far!! 1 pound to my first goal of 10% weight loss!

My first reward is at 40lbs, I thought this would be a good first goal because whenever I used to diet I would get to about 30lbs lost before I would fail or plateau or something. But anyway, I'm going to get a nice pair of boots to go with this sexy wool jacket I bought for this winter. What? I live in Wisconsin.

My first goal is -50 pounds. I haven't decided on a reward as of yet. I am half way there, so I better be deciding. I then have -25 increment goals after that, and no specific rewards there either until I am at goal and maintaining. Those are when I have specific rewards for myself.

Good Luck All!!!

Wow! What a great idea. I think I'll make my first reward be when I hit Twoterville. I started this journey at 342, I'm down to 20 pounds with 22 to go. I'm not sure what my reward will be I'm going to have to think on that a little. I just ordered me a treadmill, so maybe I'll get the wii fit as the reward......let me think on it I'll get back to you when I decided. Patty

My first big goal is -50 lbs from my surgery weight and that should put me at 199 and in wonderland. When I make that I hope to get my tatoo that I've been wanting for quite a while so it will also serve as my commemorative tat !!! Along the way though as I start to slim I figure I'll just be "forced" haha to go shopping !!! Horrible predicament to me in...right ??!! LOL !!!

I love goals and rewards!! lol I have tons of them, really just excuses to buy and do things I want ;)

My first goal of reaching ONEderland, which I'm about 7-9 pounds away from, I'll be getting a breast cancer ribbon tattoo in honor of my mom on my wrist which I've been wanting for a while. her battle through breast cancer along with other family medical problems really opened my eyes to the path that I was on.

When I'm halfway to goal, I want to get myself a tiffany's Bracelet that I've been wanting but could never justify.

When I reach goal, I'm taking a long vacation to somewhere tropical...can't decide between bahamas, aruba, or jamaica. I can't wait for this one!!

Other things along the way or at goal, I want to buy myself a sweet expensive pair of designer jeans because, well, why not? Would love to do a pinup photo shoot. Skydive. The list just goes on and on

When I get to 199 I plan to do a pedicure and manicure! I think that after that I will do 10 or 15 pound goals. Most likely I will go shopping when I reach each goal.

Speaking of tatoos, I have a purple rose on my lower right side of my abdomen. From 3 pregnancies and all this weight it is all stretched out and has stretch marks through it. (My sister tells me it looks like a rose bush instead of a rose.) I'm hoping with all this weight loss it will shrink and look halfway normal again. :) :hurray:

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
