Kathy's Slow Loser NSV List

Okay, it seems I have been inducted into the Slow Losers Club. Odd, but I guess it's true. I haven't been all that worried about being a slow loser, as long as I am losing. But, my stats speak for me, especially considering I lost 15 pounds in 12 days post-surgery and nothing more for 3 months. So, sigh, here I am. I haven't been a good NSV keeper. I will do my best to keep track and post them here. But I'm hoping they'll have to kick me out of the club, since I really really like seeing the scale move :D

I can cross my legs now. It's easier if I am sitting back or lounging, but if I'm sitting up and scootch sideways a bit onto one hip, I can comfortably cross. WOW!

My shirts are just too big. I go to put one on and I'm choosing the smallest one I have because all that extra fabric bugs me. Time to shop, but the budget prevents it right now. I'll do it, really!

I need new bras. Forget the fact that the ones I have are stretched and old and ragged, they are too big! The girls just hang, I have no good support with them, and I look bustier than I really am unless I have the Body Dysmorphic Disorder thing going on about my chest size. Some of my bras are 40D's, some are 38D's, a couple are 40C's. I think I need 38, maybe 36D's? I can't imagine needing a 36C but it's possible? Anyhow, time to shop.

I got a hair cut and can't keep my hubby from chasing me around. Wait, is that the new 'do or an NSV?

Friends at church compliment me just about every week, tell me how good I'm looking and what a difference they can see. Yay!

My undies are a little baggy in the butt. Sigh. There goes more money.

I sleep better, don't snore anymore, and rolls in the hay with hubby are no longer uncomfortable...I can breathe when I'm laying down!!!!

My new pants, something I actually shopped for, are size 18-20W and they are loose. Not baggy yet, but loose.

My panni is shrinking a little. It's still there, the overhang above my C-sect scar, and it still looks terribly ugly and it's still in the way, but it's smaller. I even bothered to shave the bikini area the other day. I could almost see it!!

My slide on shoes slide off if I'm not careful. My feet have shrunk/shrank (which is it?).

I used to trudge up the stairs, but now I can walk right up. If I have my slippers on at home and need to go upstairs, I take them off and almost jog up.

Okay, that's it for now. I'll post more as they happen and I promise to do a better job of paying attention to them.

Slow Losers...I did it! I posted NSV's!!!!!

:) I got on my first size 14 today.:whoo:  :cheer2: :bananapowerslide: :bananapartyhat: :youcandothis: :bananajump: :welldone2:

WOW! You ARE Lethal!!!!!! WTG!!!!!

Kathy - that is a significant drop in blood pressure, and considering that you were there with a sick kid, it's probably even better than that.

Blood pressure is the Rodney Dangerfield of medical tests - it gets no respect. Every one can SEE weight loss, and you can tell if your asthma or diabetes is doing better by the amount of medication you are having to use.

Blood pressure though is silent and invisible. But the underlying effects of high blood pressure are severe.

Congratulations - you have successfully reduced your risk for stroke and heart disease (the number one cause of death for women). You will be around much longer and be healthier for your family.

I know it's not glamorous, like Ms. Letha fitting into a size 14!!!! (excuse me while I get over my fit of jealousy here......) but it is significant.

Keep fighting the good fight, my fellow turtle!

I guess I should really just start a journal, but why? I have one! Okay, I'll start a journal, but for now, I have an NSV.

Background: Been measuring inches lost but haven't seen enough to really add up since last August. Yes, I have lost some inches since then, and I'd have to go back through my little pieces of paper and organize them and get it all in one place, but I'm not.

So on 3-9-06 I join Curves again and they take my measurements.

Waist 37.25

Abs 46.5

Hips 46.5

That night I get the Hives for a week, then I get a short-lived bug that gave me diarrhea, a bit of nausea, and shoved me to the sofa for 36 hours with nothing but Water and 2 Townhouse crackers to eat. So now I'm feeling better and I only missed one Curves workout from being sick.

In fact, I have only actually worked out at Curves 4 times since I joined...it was 11 days ago, yes? So I measured the ole waist, abs, hips tonight. Here's what I found:

Waist 36 (-1.25)

Abs 44.5 (-2.0)

Hips 46 (-.5)

for a grand total of 3.75 inces in just 3 measuring areas (haven't checked the rest) in just 11 days with a Virus-induced illness and a few workouts.

And my weight (okay, this is SV) on Sat was 184.0, sunday was 184.6 and Monday was 185.0. Not bad for recovering from a cleaned out digestive tract. All those weights are new lows for me. And I KNOW I'm building muscle!

And my port is sore. I've been working out those ab walls! Ouch!

e

 Well, I got me an NSV :clap2: that I've been working for 3 years to get up to and that is this. :P Today, I took myself outside and planned on just mowing a bit of my yard. Well, I wound up spending 4 hrs out there solid getting it! :whoo: :whoo: :whoo: I mowed my entire yard all by myself! I didn't have to quit and rest and I didn't ever feel faint or heck, I don't think I even really broke a sweat! I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!

Remember, I"m a girl, but not only am I a girl. I am a girl who has nearly died from a pulmonary embolism:faint: . I'm also a girl who has spent the last 3 years working up from 10 minutes on a treadmill and hurting so bad I thought I might not make it out of a mall because my feet and legs were killing me. :help:

This day has been probably the most amazing I've had since being banded. I am alive, but more than that, I AM ALIVE!!!!:) And for this, I owe all the glory to God who strengthens me and who has seen fit to restore my health for His purpose. Amen!!

AMEN! :amen: "for His purpose" being the operative words. His plans are sooo much better for us than anything we could dream up. And sometimes His plans aren't for something as Grand as we'd like to dream up. Sometimes it's the love of everyday life that is so fullfilling and keeps us going, knowing that we are living His purpose. THAT'S THE GOOD STUFF!!!!!

You need to start your very own "Lethal Woman's NSV List" Not that I mind you posting here...you deserve your own thread!!! That is wonderful and so empowering, Leatha! You go, girl!

Leatha, Youve given me a lump in my throat. That has to be one the most moving post Ive ever read. No joking.

When we learn to give God the glory (not ourselves) ~ all of our struggles become so meaningful!

Im so happy I could just squeeze you!

And Im with Kathy - you are too popular of a bandster to be hiding in Kathy's thread! You deserve you own NSV thread.

Well, okay then.. :Banane56: I thought this list was for us slow losers, but I'll move my post to my own thread. Thanks everyone for the kudos.

:)

Oh my goodness...I forgot to reply to your post! Sorry Leatha. Here's the dealio, when we were inducted into the Slow Losers Club, Vinesqueen told us we had to start our own Slow Loser NSV list. So lots of us each have own thread to list our NSV's. You can post yours on mine if you want, but not everyone is as interested in mine as yours, so if you post your own thread, more folks will see it. You did and got lots of great replies. So there. Sorry it took me so long to 'splain that. Keep posting yours here if you want. I don't mind a bit!!!! (((hugs))))
