Janet, I love fake bakes, it is like a drug. Just shows that I do suffer from SADD, but it isn't in the budget right now.

Made dinner for our coworker with the blood clot and her family. Made fake pumpkin pie for me, except forgot the over was on broil and broiled it. Don't know if it will be edible, I'm such a ditz.

Been working in my quilt room, unpacking boxes, washed and felted some wool so it can be put away. Since I use recycled wool I can't put it away until it is washed so I don't expose my other wool to moth damage. Did a couple of loads.

DD#5 has requested enchilada casserole for dinner tomorrow. I need to figure out own to make it lower cal, because I love the stuff. I don't like fakey cheese, but I can live with FF cream of chicken soup and evap milk.

Phyl, yep, make sure you put the cream on BEFORE you are in pain. It is better to keep the pain away than try to deal with it once it is there.

Candice, what's up?

Janet, man you live a busy life. But I'm glad you mentioned the taxes, I need to pay the taxes for the teachers in China. Mine are with my mortgage payment.

I know the weekend is going to go by fast, I wish it would slow down. But I am glad parent conferences are over.

Linda, how are you feeling?

Janet... you sure have a busy couple of weeks between now and the time you leave!!! You'll be running to keep up with all of that.

Probably did overdo it a little Monday. Didn't feel like it at the time, but hip did start acting up a little the next day. Today is the worse. I had to curtail my exercise at water aerobics this morning but kept moving for at least 45 minutes one way or the other. Just not necessarily keeping up with the tape. Skip the exercises that make the leg hurt. Pain was going down in to my knee with a lot of tingling. Pain clinic still has not called to schedule an appt for me. Used the ointment before choir practice, and took 3 Ibuprofen and a strong cup of instant Starbucks just before I went so I could sit w/o pain for 90 minutes! Was telling my youngest sister, Shirley about the diagnosis on the MRI... exactly the same as what she has. Only she's 12 yrs younger. She's had several of those injections and they always help her. In fact, she said last one was 6 mos ago and she's still pain free... in her back, at least!! She's having an awful time with her knee.

Karla... enchilada casserole sounds good! Glad you are getting your quilting room organized.

Earl is making us pork chops and spinach. Had my usual omelet for breakfast, salad for lunch, pretzels and dip for snack, and one of the delicious chocolate skinny cows Janet brought me!!! THANKS!!

Earl wanted to go to Vegas for a few days in early Dec., but I think Dec. is too busy! So maybe January.

Linda, Candice, where are you????

Weekend looks boring.... Red Hats tomorrow....maybe. I should call the "Queen" tonight and see if she's feeling better. I want to go to Costco in the morning. This time I WILL remember to look for battery operated wine cork remover and I want to get a package of Starbucks instant coffees. Much cheaper than at Costco. I really like them and I'm not picky about which ones as long as it's not decaf. I'm getting in the habit of fixing myself a cup in the early afternoon after lunch.

I'm here, I;m here.... food is as follows....

CALORIES/CARBS/FAT/PROTEINnt3_totals2.jpg982/129/1971

Had another couseling session today, and tommorow i am going into the CITY to a Bandsters Symposium.. so should get some GOOD vibes while there, and hopefully hook up with a local-ish support group.. I ordered a book from Amazon but it hans't arrived yet... it was recommended reading from my Lapband clinic... so I figured - what the heck!!!

Janet, I am so curious about your Shake-n-bake tan!... its the spray on type right??? How much does that cost, what ingredients are in it?? that make yu darker... is it something I might be allergic to??? Although, I'd love to go on my cruise WITH a tan already... way cool... so tell me MORE:thumbup:

Phyl, I am so sorry to hear that your pain is that bad... My BIL gets those shots in HIS back every 6 mos. if not, he could not function at all... it is a life saver for him... as he does so much PHYSICAL work, maintaining the 6 cottages at the camp up north.

Ummmm, Vegas with Earl, that soumds like fun... take him up on it girl!!!

Karla, wow you are doing so well in your quilt room , organizing etc// I need to get my ass down there and do some work too.

Well, quiet Friday night here in the Great White North... just me and Princess Bridget!!! I made a really good White Kidney bean soup tonight for supper... it was yummy... Also made my Aunt Flo beans for tomorrow or Sunday's dinner... I was a Kitchen-fool today!!!

Took Princess for a walk after supper, gosh trying to re-teach her to walk on a leash!!! Peter spoils her rotten and dosn't make her heal!!!! So now she is ruined, unless I take things into my OWN hands lol... i HATE walking the dog when I get DRAGGED down the road... its uncomfortabe, and its also hummiliating!!!:P

now I've already had a snack, (incl above) but I WANT another!!!!:( I had the chocolate PB2 tonight with 4 crackers... it was kinda dissapointing, glad I only got 1 of those jars, the other 3 were Peanut Butter which is o.k. in shakes, and on crackers....havn't tried it on celery yet, cause my Celery is BROWN!!!!:)

Candice - Shake & Bake - They spray you with fake tan )self tanner)- I don't know the ingredients - Are you allergic to the self tanners ?? and then you go into a stand up tanning bed for about 10 minutes so that the stuff can dry/bake in ;0) and in about 6 hours you are tanned.. Cost - I think like $45 - 50 not sure haven't had it done in a few years - I guess maybe in 2/07 when I went on the cruise w/Deb & my sister..

You go in naked ;0) so you have an all over tan ;0) the only problem is that the bottom of my feet get black no matter how much lotion I put on them - I have some of those sandles they give you after a pedicure - I think I am going to glue them to the bottom of my feet ;0)

Yep - I am going to be busy.. But it will all get done so not sweating it too much right now..

I think 1st of Dec is a good time for Vegas - pple are out shopping for xmas - not gambleing - but that's not true pple are always gambling..

I want to go back and see stuff - I haven't seen all the new casino's

Karla - I use to go to tanning beds all the time and you can get hooked - I know I did - but at the time I thought it was safer than the real sun (besides being faster) - I would alway go when Ralph and I went on a cruise as I have to tan gradually and I didn't want to go on a beach day and get burned - as long as I have a base I can be in the sun..

Well go figure - tanning beds just as bad for you - so now - I use self tanners & sun screen..

I use self tanner all summer - pple think it's a real tan - but in the winter I don't - get tried of keeping it up and everyone (well except the snow birds like Phyl ;0) are white - you can tell snowbirds here in the desert - it's 70 degrees - they have shorts and sandles on where as us desert rats have long pants closed in shoes and a sweater around our shoulders ;0)

I need to go to costco too to get garlic powder - will fit it in sometime..

Well - Don't know what to fix for dinner.. stopped and got some hamburger - might make some tamale pie (but just a small single serving - cuz I love tamale pie ;0)

The choc pb2 is just ok - not choc enough.. Get celery - crackers too many calories/carbs ;0)...

Well I'm hungery - need to get out of gym clothes... CBL

I stopped at the grocery store on the way home from T.O. picked up some Celery, Napa cabbage, onions, and some 100 cal snacks.

I made the Nappa cabbage salad for supper, ate about 1/4 cup of it... was getting stuck... damn that makes me mad about raw vegetables, I have such a hard time with them. BUT the last time I ate this salad it went down just fine and I had a CUP and a half of it then... So I heated up my White kidney bean soup, and a little leftover linguine... it was good but couldn't eat too much of it either. (YEAH!)

Food at the symposium was kinda weird... platters of sandwiches, Yeah DAH we are bandsters!!!! I took all the meat out of my sand. and just cuti it up and ate it dry. about 2 oz. then there was a greek salad( knew I couldn't get that down) so I had some Quinoa Salad, it had diced veggies in it... and I had NO dessert!!!

No sugar free options for dessert, a couple pcs of fruit... but then there was this huge tray of French Pastries!!! WTF!!!

So food was o.k. today!! But i was realy surprised about the choices that they offered... I am sending them a letter of protest about it, plus the room was FREEZING!!!

Good stuff at the symposium though, content wise.. the gal that gave the talk was Katie Jay, from North Carolina... she's lost 100 +++ lbs. and has kept it off and now is a motivational speaker. SHe gave us all her book... so I plan on digging into that tonight.

Otherwise, pretty quiet around here... Bridget was a good girl and no messes in the house when I got home :)

Petie is away over night doing a GIG up North...:(

Further north than Wasaga Beach???? Where is that??? Alaska, Northwest Territory??? HAHA!! Sorry... my geography is not so good! So how are you amusing yourself tonight home all by yourself???

Terrible food choices for a WLS symposium!! What were they thinking!????

Fun day! Walmart, Starbucks, Costco, Red Hats meeting, scooter ride w/my Zoey, wine & cheese, fish soup for dinner! Great time was had by all!

Volunteered to take photos at Red Hat Christmas party... about 200 ladies will be there. I've committed to taking photos of half the room... need to take a picture of EACH table in my half of the room, and must make sure the table # shows up in the picture for photo album purposes!! Queen is very specific about her requirements. I just hope one more person volunteers because I don't think I can do the whole room... something like 27 tables!! If I had another camera I'd have Earl do the other half. I've already recruited him to help with decorations the day before.

So many people stop to talk to Zoey when we go through Walmart, Starbucks & Costco! She is so good! Everyone loves her.

Finally got to wear my purple "birthday month" hat to Red Hats today. Missed the last outing because of my neck problems.

Hip is still acting up, but apparently Red Hat "Queen" is worse off than me w/very similar problem.. sciatic pain. She's taking Vicodin, 500 mg every few hours per dr's orders! And she was rather touchy today, which is not at all like her. Definitely seems to be in more pain than me. She had an MRI yesterday.

Neighbors all go back from Mexico today. They were gone a week. I guess they had a good time, but disappointed that so many places they were familiar with at Rocky Point had closed down... restaurants, etc. And very few people down there. I think people are afraid to go down there because of the drug cartels. And Earl said he read on the internet that the Rocky Point area is notorious for kidnapping tourists.

Further north than Wasaga Beach???? Where is that??? Alaska, Northwest Territory??? HAHA!! Sorry... my geography is not so good! So how are you amusing yourself tonight home all by yourself???

Ha,ha,ha... Yup he is 5 hours north from Wasaga Beach!! Up where my sister has her camp.. The big event this weekend up there is the WILD GAME NIGHT DINNER and PARTY... they do this every year, sell 300+ tickets ... and everybody has a ball... Peter's rock & roll band are playing for it and getting paid well (for a change!)

Ontario-map.jpg

See the DOT between TIMMINS and Sudbury is? Near the Quebec border? That is where Peter is this weekend. See how above Timmins there are no more towns named? That's because it Boo-foo Nowhere!!! Up at James Bay you can SWIM with the Polar Bears.... real tourist treat!!! Next time you guys come, we should all go there!!! LOL :)

Terrible food choices for a WLS symposium!! What were they thinking!????

Ya, I was really ticked - tempting all us Overeaters with SUGARY DESSERTS... bad, bad people!!

Yes, I guess you never have to look too far to see someone else worse off than we are.

I am very worried about my Sis going back to Mex this year... I just have a bad feeling... she laughs at me:angry: Her Mexican friends said " Oh Krista, don't bring any jewellry with you this year... don't look rich"...

I am watching some TV , a good documentary on G. W. BUsh's years in office... on commercials I'be been reading the WLS gals book that we got today... Its a good read... she is a better writter than she was a " Presenter" ... I thought her delivery was a bit flat!

Good Morning Gang...

Well woke up yesterday with a upset stomach - must have been the sf choc raisins ;0) didn't feel real hot - but by noon it passed.

Got my closet done - it took all day - got all the summer stuff moved to the other bedroom - on the bed !! and some in the closet got some stuff picked out for vacation in a separate pile.. Put away some summer pj's got out winter pjs - Gotta say I sure don't need any clothes ;0) well maybe another pair of black pietite jeans - but that's it.. Washed - made cream of tato soup - the calories aren't on the package - it's called Ta Da soup from Gullah gourmet that I get off the internet.. Ate couple 1 cup bowls - it's good so cal most likely weren't great ;0)

Well have gym in a few - then my target shopping - then bookkeeping (some) and catching up on t.v.

Sorry folks, I had a couple of my girls home, DD#2 from Idaho and DD#5 home from school. Unpacked lots of boxes in my quilt room and moved other stuff around. So was busy, thinking of you all though.

Made chicken enchilada casserole for dinner for DD#5, couldn't eat it, the chicken stuck. So had a piece of my low cal pumpkin pie. Not the best choice, but better than real pie.

Today is just working on quilt room, laundry, etc.

I was so bumbed, I decided to pull out my garlic and lemon marinade that I bought in Washington to marinate some salmon for dinner. Dropped it and broke the bottom out and lost the whole bottle. The mess has horrid, but the fact that I couldn't use it made it worse. I almost cried. I was so looking forward to it. But hey now my house smells like I have cooked all day.

Candice, good job on the food. It is nice to have the house to yourself. I always loved it, now I get it every day!!!

Phyl, is the cream working?

Janet, you are so organized. I never pack until the day before or even worse, the day of!

Only 2 weeks and 2 days before my surgery!!!!

Well best get to work, check in later!!

Good afternoon ladies;

Just finished reading the speakers Book. "DYING TO CHANGE" ( my really heavy life story) by Katie Joy

Its her life as an overweight person who contemplates and then gets her WLS and how it impacted her life. Great book, she is a much better writer than she is in person, I couldn't put the book down! Read it cover to cover, last night and this morning. www.thekatiejay.com

Tried to eat a soft boiled egg on WW toast this a.m., ah, not so good.. only got about 1/2 in... rest to the dog.

Then I ate an Oatmeal to go bar...

Went for a hour long walk (drag) with Bridget... that felt really good except for all the pulling... I am working on her though!

Came in and folded laundry, put some out on the line to dry. Tried eating Lunch... my Nappa Cabbage salad, well, its not going down to well either.. so I may have a shake.

What's up with this tight tummy???? I wanted the salad so badly!!!!

Nice to have your girls home for a visit. Sounds like you accomplished a lot!

Can't really say that the cream is working. Pain isn't constant, comes and goes and increases w/walking or standing. Hoping they call me soon about the epidural because I think that will be much more effective.

So sorry about your lemon/garlic marinade. Where did you buy it??

Sounds like a busy weekend for you!! I had a pretty busy day yesterday, but today just church, so now watching football and catching up on posts. Went over and chatted with Wanda a bit and showed her bracelet we made last week. She bought the beads, etc., but doesn't have the pattern. I'll probably lend her mine... if she wants to work on it before Tuesday. We're making another bracelet on Tuesday and I still didn't finish the one from 2 weeks ago. I think I'll make the earrings today and then maybe finish the first one!!

Sorry about your knees. You should probably go see an ortho dr. You don't have one do you?

My friend, Jacki (Three Rivers) is being called "Wonder Woman" by a number of her friends. Earl says she's running on adrenalin. She had her 9th or 10th chemo treatment in SF on Thurs, then 4 hr + drive home, out to BF w/friends on Friday, then Red Hat lunch, etc... Then drives to L.A. yesterday to do a 3 mile walk/run for ovarian cancer!! Thought about driving over to cheer her on, but donated some $$$ instead! Only 8 of us in the choir... I HAD to show up!! But she is pretty amazing. Lost all her hair so she was wearing a bright purple wig for the walk!! After 12 chemo sessions she gets a couple of weeks off before starting the 5 day a week radiation. She'll have to stay in SF all week for those and just come home on the weekends. Keep her in your prayers because I am really worried. When the cancer came back, it morphed in to a more virulent type.

Most good writers are typically NOT good speakers! May have to get that book!

Dog trainer lady down the street taught me to yank pretty hard on the leash when the dog is pulling like that, and keep telling her "HEEL". Then when she does it right, say "GOOD, HEEL". She told me to change the tone of my voice from very stern when she is doing something wrong to soft and sweet when she's doing good. She's been much better at walking on the leash since then, but we're still working on it, too.

Whats your recipe for Chicken enchilada casserole... it sounds yummy?

That does sound good! I'd probably try cream of chicken soup, a can of rotel tomatoes, sauteed onions, chopped up chicken, some cheese and some tortilla chips!

I'm going to make white chicken chili this afternoon to have for dinner. We have some rotisserie chicken that needs to be used. I'm going to saute onions, celery and garlic, then put in the crock pot w/a couple of cans of white beans, mushrooms and chicken broth. Later will throw in the chopped up chicken. And then some fresh cilantro!

This was posted on one of the recipe threads.

Chicken enchilada casserole light version.

Cook 3 chicken breasts, cubed (I sometimes use left over chicken or even Costco's chicken in a can)

1/2 chopped onion

2 cans FF/Healthy Choice cream of chicken soup

5 oz FF evaporated milk

1 can diced green chilies

Stir all together

Cut up 12 corn tortillas (sometimes I just use 10) into 1/2 inch squares

8 oz. Sharp cheddar cheese

Layer 1/3 of tortillas, chicken mixture, cheese (repeat 3 times ending with cheese

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes until hot, bubbly, & brown.

Delish. You can freeze it also. I typically just make 2 individual casseroles, bake one and refrig the other for 1 to 2 days for a later dinner. When I make 2 individual casseroles I use 1 can of Costco chicken and part of 1 can of cream of chicken, and 2 tortillas. The bake it for about 30 minutes.

Got a good portion of the quilt room put away and then hemmed 3 pairs of pants. I haven't sewn in a year, it felt marvalous!! Crochet's DD#2 a cute beanie hat with a shell stitch and embroidered and wool flower on one side. She took it so I don't have a picture, but it turned out pretty darn cute if I may say so myself. I am making her another for Christmas. Hand work is one thing I will be able to do while recovering. I have determined I have no reason to even walk into a quilt store. I have fabric for almost 12 quilts packaged and ready to go. So I am putting myself on probation. No quilt shopping until most of those projects are done!!!

Janet, make sure you are drinking a lot of water, joints need moisture. I didn't realize how out of shape I got since school started, I was achy today after unpacking, that is pretty sad!!

Candice, Bridget will come around, just keep working on it!!!

Well it is latte time!!! Nine more days of school before I get a month off!!!!
