September 2009 Band Date

Sorry if this thread has already been started but I looked around a bit and couldn’t find one. I think that those of us who are scheduled for September need a place to support each other, help pass the time, and not spam up the boards with a thousand approved threads:tongue2:!!! I am so excited to being this journey. So, how about it? Any lost September banders out there?:):)

Hey there fellow September-ers, how do I get added to the list?

Banded 9/21!

Congrats everyone on the weight loss its great that we are in this together! I'm crawling down but working out every day 3 mile walk and 30 mins elliptical trainer.

Just had to report I've lost another 2 lbs so far this week, so I think that is about 3 since my first fill last Wed.

The band is working! I do need more restriction, but I am feeling satisfied with smaller amounts and not hungry all the time.

So excited! 21.4 lbs so far, in 5 weeks. :)

Hope everyone is doing well.

Gen how did the abs go? No pain whatsover? Remember I was having the pain on the elliptical at week two - it wasn't totally gone last week at week 3 but now I can say it is. But honestly I still haven't hit the intensity I was at 2 weeks ago. But I'm upping it more and more each day. I am going to try and ride my trainer's horse (mine is out of commission) this weekend. Just a little for 10-15 mins - riding uses a lot of abs - core in general and boy does my back hurt since i have stopped!

I really can't wait to get filled i am hungry and really more at night.

Hi All,

Well 11 days post op and feeling great ! I have decided not to weigh myself until doctors visits but my clothes are getting looser by the day.

I had a small set back today I brushed up against my front door and opened up my port hole wound site  all is okay went to local emergency department as I am 2.5 hours from my surgeon they fixed me up, I'll call the surgeons Office Monday to talk more with them about it, when I spoke with them they advised me that this can sometimes happen so I am not stressed about it ......didn't hurt but shocked the pant's off me LOL

Anyway just thought I'd post this not to scare anyone but better to know if it happens to you that your not alone ....you all take care of those sites just in case I wouldn't like to see everyone running around shocked with no pants on LMAO:tongue2:

Dewberry

Wow Dewberry, how scary is that? Thanks for sharing!

I'm 2 weeks post op and started my mushies a few days ago. All is going well. Just trying to focus on getting my protein in. Not as hard as I thought. Getting my water in is much tougher and have to actually think about it.

I'm not feeling any restriction at all and am able to drink large amounts. Don't think I should really be doing it this way but have been feeling good thus far.

Looking to join a gym soon. Happy Friday everyone!

Wow--

It was great reading all the posts. I am three weeks post-op and about 18 pounds down. Fill will be in a few weeks. Looks like all of us are doing great and dropping pounds, hoping mine will start to fall again when I get my fill. I can feel a little restriction, and eat smaller portions, but every three hours or so.

Keep up the great work.

Love to all

How do I get the a weight loss ticker on my posts???? I made one, but not sure where to put it so it appears. Guess I did it wrong, since it is not here~! LOL

I am ready for my fill as well, I didn't realize riding was such a workout, I have never done it, but my granddaughters goto riding camp each summer and they love it.

I have to remind myself of the water too, didn't have that problem when I drank it with my meals. I joined a gym close enough to work that I can pop in on my lunch hour for a 30 min workout, I plan on alternating the days with arms/legs. should work out perfectly.

make sure you use a pin so you won't have to redo your ticker everytime you change it

Dee, when is your fill? Mine is not until 10/29, I can't wait. I can still eat anything but I'm trying to be good.

Coloradomom, I've been doing a lot of walking. 3-4 mile a day.I'll be going back to work in another week hopefully I can keep it up. Sounds like your not doing too bad yourself, great job.

Gosh Dewberry, sorry to hear about your port but glad everything is ok. Be careful.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

OMG, my first fill will not be until nov.7th, its my own fault, because I will be out of town for 3 wks starting next friday. It's going to be a very challenging 3 wks, NO fill, having to eat my meals out instead of controlled at home and fighting my old lifestyle way of thinking (that you have to eat to have a good time on vacation). I have made a promise to myself to find some place to walk each morning and to stay on my low carbs during that time. It's going to be a struggle, put I refuse to give up any of my hard earned 20 lbs

Hi All,

Thanx for the well wishes, I am doing fine today just a little tender but have been up and about as usual but thought I would give the walking a miss for a day or two as when walking around home it hurts a little but I think I will be fine by Sunday

I'm feeling a little flat this evening and feel like eating some chocolate but chose to come online and read some inpiring stories and it has worked so thanx to everyone on this site who share their stories of battles and success it truely does help us all:thumbup:

Hi - anytime a thought comes into my mind to eat anything like chocolate or fried anything - I immediately don't entertain it and think about all we have gone thru to be here. I think that if i have that 'food' i will open a can of worms and not support my new good habits. Its like smoking - you need to be cold turkey. At least that is what I make myself think. I know that I will make exceptions here and there but that is what it is an exception. So its been since august 28th that I started preop and the only thing i did have once has been to eat a small piece of cake for someone's birthday just last week.

I totally agree, cold turkey is the way for me now too. It would be too easy to fall back into old habits.
