September 2009 Band Date

Recommended Posts

I think we are officially the Sexy Septembers. I really like it!!!! I feel sexier already with just losing 12lbs, hahaha. You know though, I am totally worried about my big ole csection flap that I already have it is starting to really hang down and i'm afraid when my hubby gets home from afghanistan he'll have to use a tent pitch to hold up the flap hahaha.

I lived in North Mississippi for about 15 years..we used to vacation every year as a "girls only " trip to gulf shores and Orange beach....I really miss it

I'm originally from Gulfport, MS grew up there my whole life, now i live in NC though cuz we are a marine family but thats so weird to here people mention gulfport like the other girl did in her post. I guess since it's not that big of a city

Hi All,

I get banded September 24th!!! It's the first time i've posted here and just hoping to get to know people that will be going through some of the same things I will  I'm 8 days into the pre-op liquid diet!! Boy it's been tough!! But I have yet to cheat and i've already lost 12lbs and can fit into jeans that i haven't been able to get into in 2+yrs...This has given me the rest of the motivation to get through the rest of these shakes

I'm happy to meet you all and look forward to sharing out the rest of our journey together

Goodmorning everyone. I am feeling better today. Yesterday I was really nauseated for the first time, so I stuck to liquids yesterday and feel better today, will start again today with soft foods and see how it goes. How is everyone that was banded the first week doing? How is everyone else?

Hello.. I'm sorry to hear you were nauseous.. Was there any particular reason??

I unfortunately have a horrible cold. I thank God everytime I sneeze or cough that I didn't get it right after surgery.

I'm at the mushy stage of my diet. My initial idea of pureed steak with A1 sauce hasn't happened. I find it hard to eat real foods in pureed form. So, I'm sticking mainly to Soups and Protein Shakes. I do feel full faster. But, I can drink with almost no restriction. I'm taking gulps compared to the little sips I took right after surgery.

I wish I could report more weight loss. But, Unfortunately my little trip to Las Vegas set me back 3 lbs and I barely managed to take them off.. almost a week later. Who knew grits with butter were that bad..

Don't be so quick about adding more foods, once we get off the shakes and soups and start eating real food, our weight loss is gonna slow up lol

I'm gonna stick with the shakes and soups as long as i can stand it and then ill start adding the real food:wink2:

I was banded on the 9th and I feel like my stomach is still swollen but I feel like it's gone down a little in the last day or two. I have added real food myself but only eggs and tuna, I mush the eggs up real good with a little light mayo. The only reason I have done it is because the Protein powders dont sit well with my stomach. I have bowel issues since my gallbladder removal and I figured those were two foods that could give me some added protein. I'm glad to hear everyone is doing so well................KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADIES, and hang in there to the other ladies on pre ops.

We did it. I hope everyone is feeling okay. Like most things that I have read, I still have a little pain on the port side and pain med is making me sleepy, dizzy and tire. Other than that I feel fine. Ladies take care

I'm glad to hear that your surgery went well. My surgery went great also. The worst part was being in the recovery room for 7.5 hours waiting for a room. I feel pretty good right now. A little tender in the belly area, but not bad. I did get 5 incisions, how may did you get?

Take Care of Yourself!

I'm really not sure. I was real gassy and I think that made me nauseated.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
