topspinner...pre-op for me was weight and waist measurement, blood draw, meeting with nurse (lasted over an hour) to go over pre-op diet and everything leading up to surgery day as well as the diet post-op and what to expect on surgery day. The whole thing from beginning to end was about 2 plus hours. Lots of info, bring some sort of folder/large envelope to keep all your material together. Tons of paperwork and booklets!

Wow, this weekend has been tough with the pre-op diet. It was both my anniversary and my husband's birthday. All I could have was slimfast, broth, oatmeal, cream of wheat, and crystal light. I must admit... I had second thoughts while on this diet... it has been so hard. But here we all are turning the corner and soon to be post-op. I am looking forward to all the great things to come! Good luck to you all on Tuesday!!!

OMG I would kill for some oatmeal right now!!! :wink2: 48 hours so far of nothing but broth, a little bit of sf Jello, sf drinks. One more day of this then band on Tuesday!

Soon we will all be looking forward to solids again, right!:)

I read your food porn...damn that sounded way to good. I was drooling as I read it.

I am glad your first day went easy that is awesome...hope things went just as easy today!!! :wink2:

Not too much worse today. I did dream that I cheated last night. The dream involved chocolate chip Cookies. Luckily we do not have any in the house!

Being sick earlier in the week gave me some perspective. I really felt like total crap for a couple days. This diet is totally bearable compared to that!:)

My liquid diet has consisted of clear broth, sf popsicles, sf Jello, gatorade, Powerade, 8oz. pulp free oj, 8oz. Tomato juice. 2 scoops of whey Protein per day mixed with OJ or gatorade/powerade. That is it. I have been on this since Aug. 21st. Surgery is the 4th. Been dreaming of what I can eat when I get to mushies, but have not cheated! I am down 15 1/2 pounds. Woohoo! Starting my journey has been hard, but has made me a stronger person. Good luck to all this weeks bandster's !

Wow you are doing great! That is one rough diet you have, esp. for that long! So glad I only have three days! Congrats on the losses already!:)

Hey Soco,

Are you allowed to have Protein Shakes or just Clear Liquids? I just caved and had an Atkins shake. 150 cals, low carb, it won't kill me, but sort of bummed that I cheated a little by straying from the broth. Honestly, I just don't want all that sodium!

Looks like I lost 5 or maybe even 6 lbs so far....You know, the exact same 5 I lost earlier this month :blushing:

Good luck to you! Soon I will be in the car with my husband on our way to the hotel in Denver. I know he will want to stop by McD's or something along the way. He better not!

I'm sure one shake isn't going to throw anything off.. As for me, No, no shakes. Just Clear liquids they did specify no milk products .. I wonder why? I'm wondering if I can have coffee.. I'm starving and caffeine curbs my appetite. They said tea was okay and did not specify non caffeinated.. Look at me.. one day before and I'm trying to cheat  I have to be strong! Okay well Good Luck! and God Bless You.. I will keep all of us in my prayers tonight..

Hi Fellow September 1 bandsters. It is so wonderful going through this with others. I am very nervous for tomorrow. I had to have a weight check at the suregeons today and had lost 9 lbs from the 2 weeks of liquid diet (protein shakes). I thought I would have lost more but it is still a good loss. I definitely have butterflies tonight. This will be such a huge change for all of us. I am praying for all of you being banded along with me tomorrow. Good luck!!! It will be worth it!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
