Headache could be from a couple things:

1. Sugar Withdrawals

2. Caffeine Withdrawals

3. Dehydration

I'm pretty positive mine is from not having sugar. Past couple days have been fierce with headaches.

So you may have to just ride it out. Should go away in a couple days to a couple weeks.

I hope so, can't wait til the preop diet is done, a week from today and I'll have surgery, seems soooo far away

I had severe headaches, diarrhea, and stomach pain for 4-6 days. I was getting plenty of water. But I wasn't getting my 2000 calories a day of sugar intake  My body totally retaliated. I am having surgery the same day you are 7/31. Good luck to you!

I am also having surgery on the 31st and yes the headache and diarrhea are present and accounted for but i think it will all be worth it in the end.....think thin thin thin ...........

omg there's people having it on the same day as me!! sweet!! haha anyways its so weird because i feel great today! and i feel like im cheating because yesturday i had two strawberries, today i had a cup of brocolli(30 cals 2g pro), and tomorrow im having half of a turkey sausage(70 cal 7.5g pro) but im getting all the cals i need and all the Protein i need, is this bad? i feel kinda bad...):

total cals i had today are 980 and total protein i had were 80

tomorrow's total cals are 925 and protein is 85.5 grams of protein

i was told i needed to be under 1000 cals and 80 or more grams of protein and that i needed to follow a low sugar protein rich liquid diet for the 9 days before surgers

is this ok? i feel so bad but i dont know, its just one different thing but im going back on track on monday

i should still be ok right?

i also think that what made me feel sick was putting too much ice in the Protein shakes ended up making them too thick

I am drinking lots of water but my shakes are really good it is something my Dr markets it is called AMAZErx.com his name is Rick Carter and he made the stuff himself and it taste like a milk shake I mix it with water and 2 ice cubs and it goes down good if I could just get my mind off of the fact that I want to chew something. any ideas ?

You do need 64 oz (at least) of water each day, in addition to your protein shakes. Try it and see if it helps!

gum does help, i got the new 5 gum sour-sweet (:

Careful about the gum...you may want to check with your surgeon. Some (not all!) say not to chew it because you swallow air (more "gas") and also, once you're restricted, because it can get stuck if you accidentally swallow it. Get the all clear from your doc before you indulge. :crying:

Surgery on the 28th as well. Best of luck
