1) I want to be able to walk through a store a turn a head or two for all the right reasons. Not, look at the 'fat chick double-take'

2) Hubs and I will be re-newing our vows in 2012. I want to walk down the isle in a size 8. We got married at the JP the first time. No family, no pictures and no wedding cake!

3) I want to be able to have sex in positions that have been uncomfortable due to my weight, with confidence and enjoy it!

My goals are:

1) Not have to shop in the "Plus Size" section anymore for my clothing.

2) Be able to go to the movies and not have to squeeze into the seat.

3) Be able to do whatever physical activities I want without the fear of being "too fat to do that".

4) Be comfortable in my own skin!

Funny you posted this, I was just talking to my husband about a goal today!

I got married three years ago and I was also probably my heaviest. One of my many goals would be to have my dress RE-fitted and different wedding pictures taken!

Plus I want to go back packing with my husband..I do it now but I hate thinking about going long distances!

To be able to ride the rides at an amusement park. I love rollercoasters, and I haven't been able to ride one in 9 years.

My first goal is to get banded. (Getting closer have my psych consult on Tues and then we can submit to insurance.)

One of my other goals is to ride a roller coaster with my teenage son and have energy to play with my younger kids.

Riding a horse again sounds awesome too!

My goal:

1) To be confident enough to start dating after a 10 year hiatus!

2) To not get the eye roll from whoever sits next to me on an airplane.

3) To wear a dress and actually look good... the last dress I looked good in was my 2nd grade communion dress.

Here's to the future!

I love this goal- I want to steal it! I was this weight (my current) when I was married. My weddng gown is hanging in a closet at my parents home. When we visit at Christmas, I want to try it on and have it be baggy!

I want to be able to easily get pregnant next fall, not struggle for almost 2 yrs.

I want to slip into a pair of size 14 shorts I've had since high school (I'm currently wearing a 20/22, depending on the brand).

Awesome post!

1. to be able to slip on a cute tank top or sun dress and actually look cute

2. to have my boyfriend be able to pick me up and feel cute....not like i am going to knock him over (especially when he's 6'4 and 350 pounds)

3. to take pictures without having to hide behind everyone

I have a few different goals.

-My first one is to be able to walk up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath.

-I want to be able to ride on a roller coaster instead of watching my friends go on them. I am tired of pretending that I have motion sickness.

-I want to be able to stop shopping in Plus Size stores.

-I want to go places and not have to worry about people staring at me all the time

-I have never been on a date before and i really want to

-I want to be able to have kids in the future if I want to.

I'm starting the process.... so it's a ways off. But, I've thought of some goals that I can't wait to achieve!

1. Not to shop in the plus size section anymore.

2. Wear a DRESS and feel confident.

But, over all the two biggest goals that would mean the world to me if I accomplished would be:

One, have a baby :bolt:

And, Two. To make it into the healthy level of BMI so that I can become a Bone Marrow/Stem Cell donor so that I could possibly give someone a fresh start at life.

... like an anonymous stranger did for my husband. <3

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
