  1. My link is in my signature! I love new followers!
  2. 2 weeks of soups for me! My surgery is on the 13th. So not to much longer now!
  3. I am allowed all soups. Lowfat cream based as well! I am to drink Clear liquids the day before surgery and a day after I think! The liquid diet I believe is to shrink you liver for surgery. But all docs are different that is for sure! I can have lowfat yogurt and Jello pudding as well (sugar free). How long are you on clear liquids?
  4. Mine is isopure powder not the liquids. I probably won't like those either! I use the unflavored in soups and it really is fabulous if you blend it. I use a few others and so far none of them are that bad if you mask the taste a bit!
  5. As far as I know it is okay for post and pre op. I use a small hand blender if there are chunks in it. I won't use it for 2 days after surgery only because it isn't clear! It really is good. But don't forget to add flavors to your taste. I made this last night and added hot sauce to it! The black Bean and Cumin soup is amazing too! I am not sure I would like this much it was the middle of the summer but right now Soups are fabulous in these cold nights!
  6. I got my isopure on Amazon... prices were the same everywhere and no shipping! I think I am going to order some crystal light type isopure later today for the day before surg and the day after. I think that is a good grouping of stuff to take to the hospital. I don't have to stay so I haven't thought of it. But honestly I spent 3 nights in the hospital a few months ago and everything my husband brought to me I didn't even touch except for the chapstick. Slippers are a great idea for sure. Maybe the ones that are like socks with grips on the bottom so you don't have to take them on and off. Matter of fact I think I will get some of those today too! Good luck! JD: you will eat those things again. Just not like you do now and maybe modified. Like no bun or only the bottom bun. You will see. But I think that therapy is a good idea for you. Loads of people on here feel the same way but I assume that food is like therapy to you and perhaps finding another outlet is exactly what you need. We all have struggles...if we didn't then most of us wouldb't be getting banded. But try and look for the positive things instead of missing the food part. Good luck my dear. It is a tough road to follow but you'll make it!
  7. Which one? The enchilada soup is just until it is heated through.
  8. This diet has been great for me! The first day was the worst by far! But I am doing pretty well on the hungry front! But I also really like to cook so making different Soups and blending the hell out of them has been a little fun! I am also getting Protein from powders! I am using Click, Isopure, and a random chocolate and vanilla one from Kmart. The key with all of the shakes in my honest opinion is to blend them with ice! It is like a milkshake. I use the vanilla with fruit for a smoothie. I was not however a fan of the unflavored Isopure AT FIRST. It wouldn't break down... But today I made some Soup and then added a scoop of the powder and used a hand blender and buzzed it. It was fabulous. No extra flavor not grit...nothing! Impressed!
  9. The chicken Enchilada Soup~ 1 can of cream of chicken (reduced fat) 1 can of cheddar cheese soup 1/2 can of enchilada sauce 1 can of milk And that is it. I used a full can of enchilada sauce and skim milk. I also added more hot sauce and a little reduced fat sour cream. It really was pretty darn good! Black Bean and Cumin Soup~ http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Black-Bean-Soup-with-Cumin-and-Jalapeno-109772 this soup was amazing! Finished it off today and I will make it again!
  10. I just posted in another thread somewhere... I am on day 3 of my diet .... Last night I made a chicken Enchilada Soup..very high in sodium but yummy! 1 can of cream of chicken soup (low fat) 1 can of cheddar cheese soup 1/2 of enchilada sauce 1 can of milk. I added the whole can of enchilada sauce to mine and then added a little bit of sour cream. I was hesitant but it really was tasty. The Black Bean puree I made tonight comes from this link: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Black-Bean-Soup-with-Cumin-and-Jalapeno-109772 Thai Broth~ This is a staple in my house for soup coconut milk chicken broth ginger garlic soy sauce a little sugar But I make it with Taste of Thai coconut ginger soup base and follow the directions omitting chicken. Gonna make a butternut squash and ginger soup this weekend too!
  11. Yay! Good luck to you! Are you excited and nervous? I am not at all nervous. But then again I am sure that will kick in before the surgery!
  12. what a great idea! Chopsticks! Someone else I know uses small flatware as well! I order some small bowls today to use and I am going to us salad plates so I don't over fill my plates. I also use a coffee type cup. Invision a starbucks reusable mug. It helps me to take sips instead of gulping my drinks down! I am a week pre-surgery. I think I am going to get a few more cups...one for broth, one for Water, and one for coffee and tea...basically so they don't retain flavor of different things. Good luck!
  13. I was told to have at least 60g of Protein. I have to have bloodwork tomorrow morning..fasting along with the barium swallow. I suspect it will be hard for me to eat after the swallow. The first day was hard...but yesterday and today not so bad. When will you be banded!?
  14. sugar free carnation instant breakfast is okay! Regular is not.. according to my list of rules! When you mix it with milk then it ups the Protein. But so far the life saver for me is mixing it with other protein powders. It masks the "vitamin" taste for me. Tonight I mixed half a sugar free CIB with click protein powder and a splash of peppermint extract and milk...blended it with my hand mixer and you have a peppermint mocha! Yum. I must say Click Mocha is the best. Not as much protein (15g per serving) but still very yummy!
